Contrary to popular belief, the country's worst drivers are not in New Jersey, they are in Georgia. Atlanta to be specific. I saw in the span of about eight miles three seperate acidents. Not to mention all the near misses. You know your area has bad drivers when someone who learned how to drive in the Garden State gets nervous.
Needless to say I'm living in Alabama now. Its nice. Fucking hot. But nice.
On the way down we got a flat in Richmond. It was a harrowing experience involving a 100 mile tow to North Carolina, hours searching for a part to get my tire off, and more time searching for an open tire place to put on a new tire.
dkmfc and I have a nice apartment here. One room for us, one for the baby, and one for our mothers when they come to visit. All for well under $1,000. It still baffles me, the cheap rents here. Probably because my room mates and I were splitting $1,645 a month three ways for a two bedroom with far less square footage in New Jersey.
We're not in the middle of nowhere either. Five or ten minutes in either direction gets us to the mall, multiple foodstores, or downtown Tuscaloosa.
So its ok overall, I just can't understand what anybody is saying to me.
I miss New Jersey though. I miss the shore and my friends and the Jersey way of life.

Welcome to Alabama, Tuscaloosa at that. At least you can still tell the change of the seasons. Need to get futher south to the beaches of Gulf Shores, where I am somewhat from. Can't wait to leave Iraq and get back to the beach. Good luck!!!
