well i crapped out on the apartment... but for a good reason. it was just too much to pay, and though in my neurosis being able to move in immediately is a plus... there just weren't any other pluses to make the higher rent and less desirable location worth my while... plus the landlord stood me up yesterday and left some hispanic painter to show me the apartment... which would have been fine had the poor guy been able to speak and understand english. i wouldn't have seen the place at all if i didn't speak spanish. and i'm thinking- do i really want that guy as a landlord? do i really want another shitty landlord?

so. the search continues...

but i am glad i didn't let myself settle. i would be working my ass off just to make ends meet for the next year.

it would be so much easier if i had a car, and wasn't going to school, and didn't have to worry about whether the neighborhood would be safe enough for me to feel ok about going home late from studio or a bar.

but on the bright side- my buddy and bartender told me the house on the other side of his (right next to our bar!) is opening up in july. and it's cheap... hmmm...
