1. what's your favorite and least favorite thing about where you live?

May I recommend Mountain Dew. Lots of it. And constant coffee and cigarettes. And iced tea. Nothing like a bleary eyed all-nighter session to engage in caffeine and nicotine overdose.
Do not go gently into that good night.
Best of luck.

You could talk about how the forest in Heart of Darkness represents a wildness that western culture can't beat, and the justaposition of the "wild" Africans (who are mostly all well behaved and orderly) and the "civilized" Europeans (who are killing each other and whatnot. The absurdity of it all seems to be a central point.
But, thinking about it, it's probably too late to be of any help.
Hope it all went well. Conrad's a bitch to read.

hey folks. rainy saturday afternoon and i'm off to ... *gasp* the mall. i haven't had time or money enough to shop for myself in a long damn time, so i'm pretty excited. plus, i got a victoria's secret gift card from my old man's mama for graduation, and i believe they're having a sale... (yes, despite my rather unfeminine exterior, i have a terrible...

i'm watching a "married with children" episode find myself completely unable to follow the plot. i think there's flashbacks. and peg bundy is death. er, or something. wierd.
daem:
I never really got into married with children. I was not allowed to watch it as a kid and i guess its humor was lost to me growing up. I get more annoyed watching it than anythng else. Or myabe its just that they give white trash a bad name.
slc7675:
i havent seen it in years but used to watch all the time
i didn't sleep at all last night. going to bed now so i'm not dead on my feet at work. supposed to storm all week, so i'm anxiously awaiting a deluge of biblical proportions. or at least a little relief from the humidity. heat like this strips all the humanity off a person.
ciao, y'all.

thanks for finding that thread for me! Its nice to hear that other people were miffed about it for me, so I didn't have to feel bad about complaining. I love my name and never thought I'd have a name double, so I was a little ( a lot ) worried.
