So, helicopters have been going overhead pretty frequently. Not police helicopters or anything like that, I think they're LifeFlight choppers, so it's a good thing that they're going out. But still, it's really weird that it's been happening so much (twice a day?) and they usually never come over North Village (my part of Westwood)
/boggle.
My mom is doing well, she just came home today from the hospital. She's really tired, as one could imagine, but she's in good health. She's going to get a doctor's note to miss class (she's going back to college at PSU).
I totally had the best midterm yesterday. My Electrical Engineering class is so kick ass. It was an awesome test. It took all two-hours that we had assigned, and also, all of my skills that I have learned over the quarter so far. I'm happy. It was an awesome test, just great. Plus the teacher is a wonderful guy, so nice.
...maybe that's why he won Engineering Teacher of the Year, so I found out yesterday as well.
I went to a cocktail party last night, it was neat, but nothing sooper-dooper. I had a whole bunch of whiskey sours. Dustin insists on splitting hairs all the time and calling out semantical differences.
"No, that's scotch, so really, you're drinnking a scotch sour."
"Oh really?"
"Well, it's Scotch Whiskey, but they won't serve you scotch if you ask for a whiskey sour."
"Ok, so it's still Whiskey, right?"
"Yeah, but it's not bourbon [what the hell, we're not talking about bourbon, nor were we ever!] which is what you'd get if you ordered a whiskey sour."
"But, I ordered a whiskey sour, and got Dewar's, which is scotch. So, did I get a whiskey sour?"
"Yeah, but... yeah, you did."
"Ok, I mean, it does taste better than other whiskey sours I've tasted, it must be the scotch."
I dunno, I just don't like to play the deep semantic arguments where there's a difference of 2% or some sub-section of a category. Unless it's actually relevant, or appropriately funny or interesting...

And goddamn, I can't stand that kind of semanticism.
