I had SUCH a great time this weekend!!! I had the extreme pleasure of meeting the fun and beautiful ShellyMC, and spent a good portion of the weekend basking in her coolness. I am now so sad that we live on opposite coasts.
Her husband Dorwayin was able to join us from time to time over the weekend, although not nearly enough time! They...

I'm off to Boston for a few days to meet up with the fabulous ShellyMC and her equally fabulous husband Dorwayin, we will be joined by the not-so-surly SurlyMike, so a good time should be had by all! And with any luck we'll also get to meet TestyKitty! It's an SG extravaganza!! We will also be checking out some films at the...

It was freaking sweet to see you this weekend.
Hope that you were able to catch The Simpsons and Family Guy on your flight home.

I spent the weekend in Poulsbo, which is a cute little town a ferry ride away from where I live. I was hoping for sun, but instead had two solid days of non-stop rain.
We rent this little place called "Le Shack" which is a little guest house on some people's property, but as of last year they built a "treehouse" on the same property,...

he's actually still on KROQ semi regularly. mostly weekend and overnights. he started there in 1990, the same year as kevin and bean. and he was part of that murder confession prank that they all got in big trouble over. we email once in a while. he's incredibly funny and has the same passion for movies that i do.
blackdye15:
He's aggresive with his own kind.
Don't worry. He gets more attention than he wants as it is, though! Momma's always sticking food in front of his face and petting on his warm, hard shell! hahah I'm trying to get him used to me petting on his head. He's still a bit skittish, though.
(Would love to see how this is read out of context!

The Miracle Mile was actually on cable last night!
I hadn't seen it for a while,but i always enjoyed it.
I think it's pretty truthful regarding how people start to react and how primal they get when in a state of panic.
Plus, i love Mare winningham, i was asking Mike if he ever saw "Georgia"....
have you?
It's an interesting film, if not a bit depressing.
It also has Jennifer Jason Leigh in it...
and i adore her also.
I thought she was great in "The Anniversary Party"

We've lived in Seattle almost 2 years, and we LOVE it!
It's just the winters are way too long for us
At least the summers are sticky humid 104 degrees

I'm going to go with Charlize Theron and her painted on white laytex pants wrestling with Teri Hatcher in 'Two days in the Valley'

John Hughes should win some type of award for all the fun teen films he made....and for introducing the world to Molly Ringwald
as dated as they may be, i never tire of watching those films.
I even have a few of those soundtracks as well....but they are on tape or vinyl
Did you like the movie "Valley girl"?
I had a big crush on Deborah Foreman as well. How about "Real genius"? not exactly a teen comedy ( well college teen moreso than highschool teen) but its still a great comedy.
Eventually i will make it out to seattle, i just dont see it happening in the summer... but i'd rather stay at a hotel, as i'm weird about crashing at peoples houses....i'm strange like that, feel like i'm invading personal space.
I don't mind people staying with us, but in all honesty our apt is really small and we don't have an extra bedroom.
Wendy stayed here for a night in december and in january..... poor D took the couch. But lucky me got to share a bed with her.
I was a perfect gentleman though!

I'm watchin "Clerks" and trying to will myself to go to bed as i have to get up in six hours.
But yeah...."Real genius" is such a great film!
The first movie that Val Kilmer made such an impression on me... i love that scene he has with deborah foreman.
The line about him hammering a nail through a board with his penis
i do appreciate the invite to stay at your place or Mike's, but i would feel invasive.
and definitely appreciate the fact that you don't expect me to be such a gentleman
One of my other favorite Val Kilmer films is "Thunderheart".... i love this movie!
Should try to go to bed soon..... have a good night!

ahhhh, at last.....Friday! I'm so freakin' happy it's the weekend! And for a change I don't have a lot planned, so I can get in some major slothing! Although I will check out the Veg Fest tomorrow at the Seattle Center.
And now that all the awards shows are over, tell me, what were your favorite movies of 2005? Is there anything I may have...

Now you see why i only recommended the first "Angel"...the sequels were ick in comparison.
Not even Bronski beat could save them!
and i like Bronski beat.
There was another Victoria Abril film i liked but for the life of me i cannot remember the title and therefore will have to look it up on IMDB later..
She plays a married woman who also falls in love with this older lesbian woman, and the husband is aware of the affair.
I'll look into it later.
How was your weekend?
Thanks for the compliments on my photos
i really only like the one of me when i was five, i truly look like a little diva in that one.

and for the record, i'm not half as photogenic as i was when i was younger.
I cannot take a decent photo void of makeup!
I tend to look very sick and jaundiced

Nope, not Shelly in the pic. It is a suicide girl.

I thought it was just me!
i also thought "Vertigo" was a bit overrated...
i didn't dislike it, but it certainly doesn't seem like his best.
It was a little melodramatic for me
Glad you appreciate my cult film recommendations.
Not everyones cup of tea, but for folks who like their film a little twisted and dark......
I hope you guys enjoy the flick tonight!

1. Seven things to do before I die:
1) learn Spanish
2) live in a foreign country
3) visit Turkey, Greece, Japan, New Zealand, Croatia, Germany, Austria, India, Africa, etc...okay you get the idea
4) get in shape
5) win the lottery
6) stop...

nice elvis costello reference.
i thought of you tonight because Jaws is on the history channel. i think it's sort of odd that it's on the history channel. but anyway...i realized more during this viewing that the acting is truly amazing. as is the dialogue. it's an amazing look into the daily lives of new england residents. and the mayor's character is incredible.
every time i watch it, it gets better.
