I totally see your point re: "the town grows to the size you need." I did my undergrad years at a mid-size town in central IL. Faculty bemoan the location on and on. But really, I could live there. There's enough stuff to do, no traffic, little crime - all the stuff you talked about. I think I'm really pretty damn easy.

How as the 4th, y'all? I hit Chicago for fireworks, tapas, and free zoo fun. But once again I'm sequestered in the midwest to work and will be left to my own devices. We'll see where that takes me.

I'm not really a gadget guy, but I gotta say, that new iPhone is the most beautiful damn gadget I've ever seen.
