Spent the week in Portland, Maine at a cartography conference. Good stuff - saw lots of old friends. Tough though - up til 2:00 am and then up at 7:00 am every day.
Portland is such a great town - total old haunted New England town. I felt like I should be wearing a hooded cloak and carrying a lantern around.
Oh, I ate at the best place too - Uffa - yum yum.
It was a little tricky because there were two girls at the conference whom I used to date. At one point we were all drinking at the same table!
I also took some walks in the woods and did some leaf peeping. It was soooooooo pretty with changing leaves, like the landscape is on fire - very storybook-like.
I got hit with a huge wave of emotion on the drive home though, not sure why. I kind of swam with it though and it seemed to be okay.
Oh, and I've been listening to the band Mandarin a ton - sort of a mixture of Sunny Day Real Estate, a heavy Pinback, and a touch of Sea and Cake.
Chow-Dah

I live down the street from you? Well, since I don't have a master's yet, technically I am a Lipstick Library Paraprofessional, but for the sake of brevity and alliteration, I kept it simple. And thanks for the music compliment! Back atcha!
