So here is why I hate Statistics...

We were given a project to do with a partner.
Poll 100 people, any way you like, and ask them these questions:

What age group do you fall into?
(15-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65+)

What day of the month were you born?

What month were you born?

How many BLOOD siblings (same mom and dad, alive or deceased) do you have.

Then we are to use Excel to make tables, two charts (pie and histogram) and find 8 different statistics for each.
(Mean, Median, Mode, range, Min, max, Quartile 1, Quartile 3 etc)
Whichever ones we think are relevant.

So I make some badass charts...
now to work on the 8 data points...
I stare at this data....literally...for EIGHT hours last night...
and I can't make it work.

Today it dawns on me...
Age group, month and day of birth...are fucking QUALITATIVE data...you can't number crunch qualitative data....only QUANTITATIVE data...
the only stat that means dick with qualitative is mode...aka the one that occurred the most (day, month, etc)

So the whole time I was trying to crunch data...I was fucking DONE with the project...
