well, changed my availability at Wegmans starting the 21st of April. I figure I should pass the drug test (as the only drug I imbibe in is caffeine) and the background check (since I passed one for my certification and I haven't committed any crimes outside of traffic tickets). its starting to feel real this entire "real job" thing.
finally got my car back today. and I was told the cruise control stopped working. I told my sister if it needs to be repaired, her and her boyfriend can pay for it. she tells me "No....its just cruise control, so just don't have it."
bull shit.
told her boyfriend that I think this covers at least a year of cell phone bills. he tells... Read More
I like Planet Fitness. It would be nice (for me) to join a gym that had childcare too but really with Planet Fitness being only $10/month I can just go when MDF can watch the girls or they're in preschool.
so my weekend started 1 1/2 hours late today. we had construction at my job last night (digging up the floor for new sinks and a grease trap) and the hot foods bar was not covered (and as a result, had a nice layer of concrete dust on it).
so the store manager asked if I could stay and help clean it up some. sure....she's... Read More
interview done, behavioral style. 4 questions. then a series of yes/no questions. that was fun.
add to that a writing sample and my civil service exam score and intangibles (whatever they may be)....that will determine the score if I'm 1 out of 12 hired for this position or not this time around.

so should have my car back soon. the work that is needed for my car is:
timing belt and water pump
part of the frame needs replacing
transmission work (hoping its a seal)
grand total (estimate) is $1780 for everything. about $1000 is for the transmission work (worse case scenario). best case...the transmission work is about $300 and I spend about $1000 on everything.
I have now decided my older sister is the kiss of death for cars. she has "borrowed" my car since November 3rd (with a few hours of break on the 9th before her car acted up again). when she borrowed it, as my neighbor said, it was "in damn good shape" (we do the work on the car....considering he's replaced a clutch before, think he... sleep....always a good thing. with the wacky weather in my area (let's see....Sunday it was around 12 F, now its in the 30's and we might have reached the 40's today), it gets fun. the problem for me is finding the right temperature. strong introverts (me, me, me!) are sensitive to temperature (I can walk into a room sometimes and tell there is a candle... Heh. Nope, no suggestions. We have a TV that's hooked up to a DVD player and that's it. I don't see us getting a BluRay player or High-Def or anything else like that in the near future. I'm a semi-luddite.
