well, survived the fourth of July. wasn't too bad actually. went to my Aunt's house, she owns a bunch of land on a hill. we grilled chicken, corn, kebobs (onion, baby potatoes, portabella mushroom caps, sweet peppers, squash, and zucchini) and hots and hamburgs. I was the main cook, and everyone agreed that I can cook (for those single ladies in the Rochester area, take note, please!).
some funny parts included my cousin (who had the chicken, dogs, and burgers, as well as beer....Labatt Blue) calling, he blew a tire on the way there. a bunch drove by. didn't realize it was him. he has 2 sons (one is three, one was born in October). his wife got there and was "screw you all, I'm not stopping for you!"....so our cooking was started late.
cousin's wife's father's girlfriend (following me here?) started making comments about my cooking initially. so I handed her the tongs and said "Here, you cook it then!" she acknowledged my skills afterwards.
went swimming at my Aunt's pond as well. when alive, my uncle had it made. 18 feet deep, about 18 feet wide. part os his reasoning is that injured animals go to water, and since his land is posted, if an animal is shot, it has a refuge to go to. also stocked with fish. it was fun swimming around. have some pictures. posting them later. funny, Hunter doesn't like going in....but he was good floating on the raft. why is that? at his home, his mom (Wendy) dunked him once. but he's learning.
then we spread my uncle's ashes (the remaining half). didn't say anything. hes' the one that committed suicide. it kind of sucked...downer. yes, I cried. most of us did. I know that he was probably one of the reasons why I have a degree in Counseling and am going back to be a School Counselor. he was the best natural counselor in my family, and one of the few (maybe with my cousin and his wife) who know how to listen and talk to me as necessary. hopefully this brings some closure for my Aunt as well.
afterwards, we had fireworks. that was fun. illegal in New York State. but still fun!
finally, had to follow my cousin home. you see, he lives 80 miles away. he was driving on a donut for a tire. what normally takes an hour to 1 1/2 hours was much longer. but he made it safely.
I got back, to pack up my car, and drive another hour or so to return to my job....now that sucked!
but I got to work the next day. on about 4 hours sleep. yes, dragging all day! but I worked an entire day!
and discovered that Mormons are in my building. the Hill Cumorah pageant happens in Canandaigua every year. Canandaigua is about 20 minutes from here. so every year, the Mormons performing stay on campus. rent out the buildings. I arrive to signs with emergency numbers. campus safety and 2 people...."Sister Crocket and Brother Crocket"....why am I tempted to add Davy's name under theirs? think I would get in trouble for doing that?
and how was everyone else's Fourth of July?

I trully believe that all construction crews purposely delay work on educational institutions , every school project in my town and state has gone months beyond the estimated time of completion , some close to a year
