hellstorm

this past Sunday, my younger sister came up to visit. for her graduation (sorry schoolgirl, if you read this, I didn't do a gag gift) gift, we went shopping at the Outlet Malls here. I gave her a $50 limit. she got measuring cups (graduated, where one cup you can measure a cup, a 1/2 cup, or a 1/4 cup, kind of cool!), measuring spoons (they match!), a cutting board, and some cook ware (pyrex or corningware stuff). she bought me a pair of sneakers (I get to pay her back). we both agreed that the sneakers I had for the past few years (as in 2 or 3) were ready to go! so I got new Reebok crosstrainers. kind of cool, since I've started working out for real now (I think this is pretty much week 3) and most of my workout is more cardio (as in bike or elliptical machine), so the new sneakers should help!

we also talked for a bit. a long bit. okay, for a while. walking around and talking. letting her vent, stuff like that. our mother is still kind of psycho and bitchy about her moving and her boyfriend (who she feels owes the entire family an apology....next time she says that to me, I'll ask "For what?" and see what happens!) told my younger sister the next time our mom starts arguing, in her best "I care what you think" tone, to ask her "What would make you happy?" and wait until she answers it.

unfortunately, their neighbor is also kind of stalking my younger sister. they hung out all semester, until she realized how he felt. she intially told him "I have Andy, sorry!" he still was puppy boy I guess. he told her before she leaves "I want to clone you so I can have an exact copy of you" and all sorts of stuff like that. told her to tell him honestly "I want to be friends, but when you ______, I feel _______" and see where that goes. our mom's view on this? "You started it, you deal with it" and "You've been awfully mean to him lately" and such. yeah, next time I hear that, it might be "Kind of like you were with Dale". Dale is a guy my older sister dated. she dumped him, he went mopping and such. my mom ended up teaching a class for Sunday School with him. I never liked him much, he pissed me off. one day he told my mom he loved her. 'nuff said. wonder how my mom will like them apples?

and talked about my younger sister's future. I told her to make sure she is independent of her boyfriend, to never be dependent on another person for her own survival. she should be able to do it. she graduated from college (pretty much working full time) with a 3.88 cum GPA. not bad, huh? I let her know that she does not stay with someone because she's used to it, you stay with someone because you're happy. to also lay down the ground rules when she moves as well (who cooks, who cleans, who does dishes, who takes out the garbage, what happens when they fight, and so on). hopefully she listens!

beat her 3 to 2 in pool as well. I scratched a few times on the 8 ball! gave her a tour of the campus. all in all, a good time was had!

I think she enjoyed it too! if nothing else, she got a chance to talk. which I think was important!

but, alas, in all this good, I think I lost my Ray Ban sunglasses! $100 I'm out. oh well, not exactly a pair I wanted. it was the pair I could afford. I might just splurge on myself next month to buy new ones. plus, working here, I get discounts at the Outlet Mall! which has a Sunglasses Hut! whoo-hoo!

and it got hot here...and humid!

but, well, today, we had an end-of-the-year thing for the Division I work for. and parting gifts. I'm leaving, so I got a hoodie. which is cool. it was at a Dean's house. she has a hanging plant with a Robin's nest in it. she said the eggs didn't hatch. I saw fuzzy heads poking out of the nest. I think the contrary!
