I agree with both the above statements. I have witnessed firsthand the effects of ceiling fan installations gone wrong. Better to do it correctly the first time.

found the screws, all is well....my original plan was to use some of the screws from the first fan until I found the other screws (and put them on instead)....damn screws were hiding in a plastic bag with other screws!

the only "modification" I did was using locking washers in addition to the screws attaching the mounting bracket to the junction box. just a little bit more support IMHO.

all done now!
