people that make you laugh....my step-father drives out to a mechanic because "he gets a deal...." (he works with the guy at the post office).
let's see...the "deals" he has receives....
quoted me a higher price to replace my back-up switch (2002 Dodge Neon) than the Dealership....
said one car (Buick Century) we had needed a new head gasket seal and wasn't worth fixing...gave it to someone who had an engine flush (and the people commented "Has this car ever been flushed?") and drove it from New York to North Carolina with no problems...and the car is still running.
was the middle man for a deal selling my step-father a Honda Accord that runs great....and has since had to have an engine replaced.
and now.....charged my 2nd cousin for new brake rotors and pads. she brings her car to her mechanic, who looks at the rotors and goes "He never replaced these...."

then again, this mechanic doesn't charge him tax if he pays cash....so that proves he's above board, right?
