so a little sore from yesterday....the shift ended up being 7 hours long (add 1/2 lunch break in there) instead of 6...and here's how it went...

first hour spent cleaning....really sweeping up the front end.

called in to run register (mind you, I'm dressed to work outside in rain and 40 F weather...so t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, jacket, and work shirt in layers). I ended up running register for about 2 hours.

back outside for 1/2 hour...back inside to run register. so by 11:30 AM, I've been outside for 1 1/2 hours, having started at 8 AM.

off register at noon, time for lunch.

back outside, lots of walking around and cleaning....went inside at 1:30 PM to wash up, front-end manager did a "walk" with me....showed how he wants the garbage on the ground picked up. told him I'm scheduled until 2 PM, have 27 hours (want no more than 28 for part timers)...he asked if I could stay an hour. so I did...and spent 1 1/2 hours walking around the front of the property, including the really sloping run-off pond area, picking up trash. saw the beaver (not that kind, pervs!) swimming in the pond.. and had to get what I could off the snow banks (which I have termed Mud St. Helens due to the muddiness that sticks to your shoes from these banks).

out at 3 PM, suggested a "stabby stick"....something to save the backs of those doing this job next week. bending over constantly to pick things up does a number on your back, being able to stab the trash would help. went to JC Pennys for a little shopping (had a gift card) and then back home. dinner, took a nap, and was hoping to find some people in chat....but no one was there.... frown

set my clock ahead an hour (did you forget) and went to sleep.....now time to fold laundry and get ready for the overnight shifts....do I have a note from the full-time overnight cashier again? if so, ehh, whatever. a few shifts this week.....and planning on being around here Friday night AND Saturday night (since I don't work Saturday at all).

plus some car repair. I still have to get the hood latch. odd that the places on eBay have a hood latch for a 2002 Dodge Neon, HOWEVER, say that the latch is for a 2003-2005 Dodge Neon SXT only. I have a 2002 Dodge Neon SXT...is there a difference between the '02 SXT and '02 R/T Neons for the hood latch? honestly, is there time to do some research....figure the hood latch on eBay is less than $20, while at the dealer (its a dealer part, like the adjuster screws) is $50. get that in and can work on fixing my car some more (including getting my horn back)....did buy the tester to see if there is a connection (IE, is the horn not working because of a blow fuse....or does my step-father have some evil power of making cars break, since the horn died while he was driving my car, and he seems to always have something wrong with his car or any other car he drives).

a few work shifts this week and planning on waking up early Wednesday and Friday to see if I can sub now....after 3 times subbing, I no longer have to pay Union Dues! yes....a full day is $94 pay, a half day is $45 pay. and the difference? a full-day is 3 1/2 hours of work.

and job searching....sending out stuff to Allendale Columbia School for a college advisor position...it seems that finding a job in this area is nigh impossible (well, if I knew people in the schools, it might be easier). oh well.

Worse! I just plowed a bunch of it away from the garage. The mud flat is now 2 foot deep in the low spot i plowed it into. It will take 50 lbs of seed to cover it.
I still have a bunch of plowing to do on the driveway. I need to lower the driveway about 4 more inches. Then i'll base it with 2 tri-axles of bank run (rocks the size of baseballs).
Atleast it was draining this year, last year was even worse. The guy who owned this place before was an idiot.

jermhawk:
Yup. Mine doesn't leave the paths this time of the year. They tear the shit out of everything, hence my my driveway is such a mess. The guy before me didn't understand drainage and filled the driveway so the water lays in it. Add a tractor and it become a nasty mess. Its so bad I am grading it all out and starting over. Eventually It will be concrete.
