well, lunch with my dad wasn't too bad. evidently Wegmans might be trying to recruit him. he would be great to work with....I worked with him one time at a Machine Shop when he was my supervisor. he got the respect of everyone around him.
when he worked at Coca Cola, he covered for one supervisor in the production area....and by week's end, production went up. as he told his one supervisor, "I can go on the work floor and tell you something about everyone that works under me."
we'll see.
still working and planning on replacing my headlights....finding sets on eBay for $100 or less. my concern is that all the descriptions say "New" and include the mounting brackets....what about the mounting bolts? the funny part....all I want are the bolts. I know I can spend about $20 and get plastic polish to make the lights look great...it just seems to be no place to buy the actual bolts I need. although with how few hours I have this week, I might check Pep Boys and Advanced Auto to see if they sell the needed hardware...in which case I replace my hood latch and the bolts and spend less than $100 total (I can buy the hood latch for less than $20).
yes, my hood fights me to fully close. in fact, the last time I went to close it, I had to sit on the hood. something in the latch just isn't fully working....spray lubricant and WD 40 isn't helping. so time to replace that!
as for work....everyone had their hours cut back big time this past week. while many people would get 20 hours at least...this week, almost no one got 20 hours. what bites is that, to keep my health insurance plan through Wegmans, I need to average 20 hours a week. so if this becomes a problem and HR says something, I can always go "Yeah, I know....a completely open availability, customer compliments, no complaints about the job I do....and all the front end can find is less than 20 hours.....see a problem there?" see what HR says about that....maybe I'll cross train elsewhere...or leave the store.
and where is this hours cutting idea from? the store manager....who also thinks that having laundry detergent on the front end will sell. you know, because when I'm in line and looking at the register, seeing bottles of detergent on top of the register area makes me go "Ooo, gotta buy this!"
yeah, that's about it....sent out stuff for a job at Fairfield University in CT. its a Catholic/Jesuit college. which should mean little to no drinking..which I can handle. the one thing I really hated about Res Life was the issues around drinking....and how the colleges treated alcohol. sorry, if you're under 21 and get caught drinking alcohol....a slap on the wrist won't do anything. give them real world consequences. and when you know the clubs that serve underage....do something about it. then again, I also worked on a campus where I almost got yelled at.....we caught 2 kids smoking pot in their room....hmm, let's see, a non-smoking building, and they're smoking pot. I called University Police who found 33 grams of marijuana. what was I told? "You know, for the first offense, you are to make them flush the pot and confiscate the paraphernalia..." "Oh, so I'm to break the law?" whatever...make pot legal, have the kids smoke it outside, I'm fine. in the building, no-smoking building, nope. as I would tell the residents...."I'm responsible for your actions in and around the building....so if you break policies, accept the consequences. If you're not in or around the building, I ask that you be safe, and if you're caught, accept the consequences...period."
well, time to get dressed and fold laundry and prepare for an overnight shift tonight with inadequate help...the store manager asks me how things went, I'll go "Busy....could have used more help, that's for sure.......feel sorry for the customers who had to wait because I had no help," and see if it clicks with her...probably not.

jermhawk:
The mounting brackets and headlight are an assembly. The adjusters your talking about better come with an assembly or they are ripping you off.
