so got rejected for the job...at least this time I wasn't rejected with a "You did nothing wrong, we went with someone who has more job experience than you" line. instead, it was "We went with someone who had more energy, more interaction." okay? so my "quiet" nature I guess means I lost this job.
what else did I lose? a $23,000 a year job in Vermont with housing, outside at least 5 days a week, working pretty much from 6:45 AM to 10:00 PM (with maybe 1/2 to 1 hour break in there). food for the days I'm working, having to pee in a bucket at night, wood burning stove to keep myself warm at night, -40 F (or C) degree weather to be camping out in. that part I can live without.
also working with troubled youth. okay, that part I would have liked, helping those kids turn their lives aorund.
oh well....so what's on the horizon?
a few long-term sub positions. might look at a few PA jobs as well....is there anything near by? also keeping an eye open on the Monroe County Civil Service Exam...the one for Probation Officer is up next year. take that. hey, if I get that job, it means County Beneftis (keep in mind that Monroe County is very Republican, if that is good or bad), trained to shoot a gun and who knows what else. 40 hours a week (or so) of work, stay in the area....oh, and could be working with troubled youth, helping them to turn their lives around. and starting at #35,000 a year at least.
oh well, we'll see where life takes me. just sucks that, after 8 1/2 years of college, I'm still struggling to find a job. thanks bastards out there (yes, you greedy ones) for the nice economy we live in. and BTW, the excuse of giving a bonus to someone who cost your company Billions, because they are needed to figure out a way out of the mess they created..yeah, like rewarding someone who created a computer virus to fix the problem they created. whatever. I got a feeling these are one of the few companies where such employees would get a big time bonus instead of being showed the door (quite quickly).
well, enough of that. I slept a good amount (first day off really in about 2 weeks). I was planning on trying to be cheered up in chat...but too damn tired (I woke up yesterday around 4:45 AM to go to work). but I should be around today. so now time to eat, do some laundry, and listen to the new Dream Theater (that I downloaded). yay! and go for those damn jobs!
