well, yesterday, I was officially rejected for the long-term sub position. add to that the fact that a school district who e-mailed me "Are you still interested?" never called to set-up an interview...that sucks!

when called, I asked for feedback. the basic feedback is this:

"You interview great, your answers are great. You lack job experience."

so I dont' get interviews, and when I do get interviews, I get rejected because I don't have the job experience. I wonder what kind of people I"m going up against, since I worked 5 1/2 weeks as a long-term sub in addition to the 2 internships I completed. so am I competing against people that worked as a long-term sub that much longer? if so, where? since last year, I only saw 2 other positions.

so what now? doing a look at Res Life jobs (hey, got experience....although jobs I've applied for in this area are also not calling me). and looking at Paychex. and signed up to be put on the sub list for at least one school district. guessing working in a school, even as a substitute teacher, must qualify as experience, right? I hope so.

and I plan on also looking to take the Civil Service Exam. screw it, if I can't get into the schools due to a lack of experience (I wonder how people do get in, then, since if you need experience to get a job, how do you get the experience?) and I do not know anyone. so hey, if I get a County job, it could mean nice benefits for life and retirement in 20 years with a full pension and qualify for the "120 payments and done" on my student loans.
