well, Monday, time to get back to the routine. I've made up a list of school districts in New York state that are interested in school counselors and the dates the applications are due. I want to stick t New York state because, well, I've paid into the NYS Teacher Retirement system already, and if I leave the state, that amount I paid in does me no good. however, if someone was to find a job elsewhere that could be good (IE, Canada), especially an area that is willing to help with housing, i could consider! one never knows!
so what else? last night, cleaned out my car. over the past few months, as I've needed stuff from my car (jumper cables, jack, whatever), I kind of just tossed it in the trunk. same when I was getting my car washed, I would toss whatever was in the car in the trunk.
so last night, took everything out. put the jack back where it is supposed to go. tossed quite a bit. many, many scratched CD's I've made over the past few years. threw out the umbrella that was torn, stuff like that. got everything neat and organized again.
and then went through the backseat, which was rapidly being over run by Mt. Dew bottles. mind you, not the worst its been. but getting there. the worst..um, yeah, you know the area where you put your legs in the back seat? I had that filled once with empty bottles.
so what now? hmmm, I have 6 bags of bottles to return. in New York State (for those not in the state), we pay a $0.05 deposit on each bottle. return the bottles and we get the deposit back. part of the recycling idea here. so when I return the bags, who knows, a few bucks might come my way!
however, I do need to save a bottle or 2. I use the Big Slams (1 liters) over again. I buy a 2 Liter for $1.49 then refill the empty Big Slam bottles. better than paying $1.89 for a Big Slam. or $1.50 for a 20 oz. seriously, stretch the money as much as I can!
so now what? see if I can contact my neighbor. I need to replace the front brakes of my car, he's offered to do it for free. why not? I need to replace the rotors. he checked one out, its slightly warped. all I have to do is pay for the parts. I won't complain. hit the batting cages for some practice. and get ready for Wednesday...where I work maintainence for 6 1/2 hours (oh, I hate maintanence....we have departments that expect me to be at their beckon call....sorry, but there is only one of me and many of you....you do the work sometimes!). then softball. last time we played, only 8 of us showed up. then again, when you say we play on Sundays, then change it to Wednesdays at the last minute, it makes things tough!
so that's about it....how's life in your area?
EDIT: yeah, took back the bottles, $5.55 in bottle returns. let's see...at $0.05 a bottle, yeah, 111 Mt. Dew bottles returned...most of them 2 Liters! oops!
