well, my weekend from hell is done..well, another weekend. basically the entire idea of working 20+ hours in a 2 day time period.
and while it does not seem too bad, it really does suck in many ways. I work overnight twice....that's not too bad. but then add to that working 5+ hours on about 5 hours of sleep...it can suck. it varies so much, it does get bothersome.
next week....even better! I work overnight, back at 5:30 PM and work until 1:30 AM Sunday night/Monday morning...yay!
so what else? some drama at my job. one of the coordinators (they are a step above cashier basically) is getting on people's nerves. last Saturday, one of the coordinatrs (closing, working unti around midnight) was really sick. instead of staying 2 hours, she refused. why? because she had to go to a Frat party.
the following Saturday, she says she asked for it off 2 weeks in advance. she didn't. the Front-End manager who's stressing out wanted that day off....he rarely (if ever) asks for a day off. now, he might get screwed over with that because, well, she is dictating she wants the day off (because she will be out of town).
personally, I would put it as "You're scheduled...if you can't be here, find someone to cover for you. If not, its a No Call/No Show."
I would be too mad or concerned, but she's also the coordinator who...
1. got her job going to the Store Manager and crying about the fact that the Front End would not promote her...gee, could it be because she's more concerned about herself? or that she sucks as a leader?
2. she seems to think she's an expert by taking a class. right now, she is taking a health class. she proceeded to lecture me about how bad Mt. Dew is for you. I asked about alcohol (she's a big lush...underage drinking, and drinks to get hammered, period). she tells me how "They say having one glass of wine is good for you," and then starts talking about "responsible drinking." I ask her to define it (after all, what would I know? having 4 years as a peer educator, taking a class on Addiction Counseling, and five years as a Resident Director...oh, did I mention that one person I know is also studying to be a rehab counselor?). she insists that responsible drinking is "Not drinking to the point of being totally out of control."
3. she's bitched about others not doing their job or not helping her out. hmmm...and she's showed how much she helps others.
so the one coordinator who works (she's a good coordinator) is really mad. told her straight out "Hey, she asks for a favor...sorry, busy!" we'll see how ti goes.
and hoping the annoying coordinator decides to prove she's an expert in Psychology to me because she's taking a class in adolescent Psychology. it will be fun, I wonder what she can teach me...after all, I majored in Clinical/Counseling Psychology and Developmental Psychology and earned Division Honors. hmmm...it could be fun!
well, time to print out resumes, get supplies, and get ready for Wednesday's "Teacher Recruitment Day"....oh the joys!
