so today I finally bought an antenna to hook-up to the digital converter box for my TV. now, I'm sitting in my room watching The CW on a digital TV signal (I think at least a digital signal). don't know yet.
seriously, the people bitching about the analog to digital TV conversion.....get a fucking clue!

the ACLU was saying it violated people's rights? if that is the case, if there is a right to watch television, then ACLU, would you buy me a new TV? because I think I'm watching TV on something I had to buy....meaning a priviledge. 'cause last I checked, a TV was something you had to pay for, and something that was considered a luxery.
then you get the people going "Hey, I can't afford the converter box on my meager income." hmm...newsflash dumb fucks, the government had a program FOR YEARS to assist in this. did I mention that the digital converter box I have cost about $5? how is that? I went to a website and registered for the government program. the program that sent me a $40 gift card to buy a converter box.
so did these people not realize this was happening....after the years of commercials. how is that? after all, since the TV is soo important to these people, and these commercials ran and ran and ran (oh, BTW, also had a 1-800 number to call, in case these people had problems using a computer). so why did these people not call to get the box?
dunno, guess it interfered with their civil rights. I guess the right to have others do things for you or something. don't know.
after all, let's see.....WMFE (in Florida) stated that the cost of keeping their analog signal on is $10,000 a month in electricity bills. yup....$10,000 a month because people couldn't call to get a converter box. so when people wonder why some of these stations might have to lay off people because of costs....hmmm...let's see, February to June....that's 4 months. so basically TV stations have to spend $40,000 because the ACLU feels that people have the right to an analog signal. will the ACLU reimburse these costs?
and people wonder how we got in this situation....you tell me!
so on other notes....damn, no Watchmen for a while. the local IMAX theater did not get an IMAX copy. seeing this movie in the theaters...I feel anything less than an IMAX experience is a travesty. so I will wait.
