well, I'm pretty much guessing that the latest job I applied for (Residence Hall Director at SUNY Canton) is not in the cards for me. the job posting has been pulled from the website. I think as of today. so that's job 20-something (perhaps in the 30's now) that I've applied for and was rejected for as of last summer. yeah, this job searching crap is seriously getting annoying and depressing. how many jobs can you apply for and get rejected before you finally look at yourself and wonder why you even bother.
but I digress.
so the drama with my cousin and his wife getting divorced is getting interesting. someone that works with her is the mother of one of my cousin's friends. she told him that it is known throughout the store that she is having an affair with a 51 year old and that the last time they had problems, it was because of an affair with another woman. well, there is a "friend" of hers that she calls her "support system" that is 51. this woman also happens to be an idiot and the one that told me that all behavior is simply explained by biology, explaining why her son is such a prick (because of his father) and that no man knows how to treat a woman. whatever.
my view right now....my cousin needs to fight for his kids. this adultery is here say (spelling, anyone?). his wife requested that he only has curbside visitation (aka, he can drive up, say "Hi" and that's about it). mind you, he spends the most time with his kids. well, hopefully the possibility of losing the chance to see his children will spur my cousin to fight and some action. but we'll see.
on other notes....DAMN ITS COLD OUT! seriously cold out. I have a clock in my room with a thermometer in it. last night, I got home, my room registered at 59 F (15 C). it sucks. right now, the temperature is about 10 F (windchill of -11 F) or -12 C (windchill of -24 C) for the international crowd. yay working tonight!
so what is in the cards for me? well, first off, depending on how my tax returns go, I might be able to get about $1000 or so for moving in the fall (taking out a loan against my retirement fund). something I don't want to bank on (I would prefer to have that money as a buffer). if I get enough back in taxes, I could use some of that too to move. how much would an apartment cost up in Canton/Potsdam anyways? one person had part of a house for $375 a month plus deposit in Potsdam. we'll see.
also, the school district I graduated from (Greece) should be having an opening soon as well...a counselor should be going on maternity leave. I just haven't seen the job posted. fingers crossed.....that would be nice to get.
