you know, cars can definitely be a pain in the posterior! my brakes are still making that noise...but only when I first start the car. I drive a little ways (we're talking less than 1/2 a mile) and the noise is gone. researched on the internet AND talked to a mechanic who came through my line (hey, at 3 AM, you have to do something, right?). both seem to indicate that the "problem" really isn't a problem. the brakes are cold, and the hardware might be clamping down more than they should, something like that, until things warm up. I though metal contracted. maybe it does and is pushing on the pad or something. now, this is a recent development, but should make sense since:

1. it just started getting cold here
2. I had the rear brakes replaced over the summer

but still, cars sure suck sometimes!

what else? getting ready for another overnight shift. I seriously need to get out of this job. here's hoping one of the jobs I'm applying to will hire me. both I think could be interesting. and there are more I'm looking at, like....


a residence life job at the Culinary Institute of America

what an idea...I work with people who like to cook. I can see the programming ideas now! 24 hour marathons of the Food Network! an Iron Chef competition! anything! hey, I like to eat good food! and learning to cook is a good thing. learning to cook good is even better!

hmm, I think that's about it. my cousin's wife is still hell bent on getting divorced. as my mom puts it, she's listening to "...some bitter bitches." basically, my cousin's wife has 3 friends, all or which are divorced/multiple divorced women. some had the custody of their children taken away from them. yup, good role models! remember, the one got kicked out of her apartment in less than a month!

why am I so tempted to stop by where they work and file complaints? including ones that suggest that these people seemed to be under the influence. and if things ever go to court and I'm asked who the children should live with, I'll tell them "Ask the oldest one who is home."

he will say "Daddy, Mommy is never home now."

or something along those lines.

and I think that speaks volumes! considering my cousin now has a Friday night ritual where he "camps out" in the living room with his sons, watching Clone Wars. they like it, and he gets to spend more time with them. would you argue?
