well, I have a feeling I will receive "the letter" from Rush-Henrietta as well (no phone call yet). kind of annoying when people tell you "don't worry, you'll get something" and you realize that of the 13 or so schools you've applied to, 3 have called (and no job). all the others didn't even bother calling you for a job interview....yeah, optimism is kind of hard.
so what have I done? well, first off, I "dropped" my bed down. the bed frame has 2 slots for putting everything, one low (normal bed) and one high. it was a set for bunk beds. so I had my bed on the "high" slot and was storing stuff underneath. cleaned out some stuff, put the big bins downstairs, and now I have things set where the bed is lower. which means I don't have to put my fan up on boxes anymore when I sleep (I have this odd thing where I need a fan blowing on me when I sleep.....one way I make sure to wake up is to set the timer function of my fan....seriously, when it goes off, I wake up!) a little cleaning and such, getting the desk back to a workable space.
so now what? finish laundry and such. tomorrow I'm checking at the dealership on whether or not my car's back-up light switch is covered. I anticipate an argument...."How do you know its the light switch?" to which I can go....
"well, I brought my car in for an inspection and they told me my back-up lights were not working. they changed the bulbs and both lights are still not working. I checked the fuses and all is good. so, as part of the recommendation of the shop that did the inspection, I'm going to say that its either the back-up switch," and hope its covered under warranty (which I think it should be...since this is not a part that normally wears out!).
so yeah, and work this week....a measly 24 hours. then again, since I have overnight shifts, it also means I start early...and most managers, while its posted that employees need to be ready to work when they punch in, will come in (hopefully on time), punch in, and then "Can you wait around for a while, I need to get coffee" and about 20 minutes later they are ready to work....go figure! oh well, it means I get paid more!
and thanks to Tunnel_Vision for the new profile pic!
ADDENDUM:
well, no letter. here's hoping that the co-worker of mine was able to put a good word for me in with both the Superintendent and the Director of HR at Rush-Henrietta...hey, every little bit helps, you know!
