hellstorm

well, today, the stool I've been using as desk chair finally ended its usefulness. I noticed an increased amount of "creeking" yesterday, and when I looked, I noticed that one of the legs had broken loose from the welding. basically, the legs were welded to the base that the stool top sat on. guess rocking back and forth (or any movement) was not good. then again, the stool was specifically stated as not for commercial use (and not that expensive). so today, I looked at it, and noticed that it was sitting at an angle, pulling a leaning tower of Pisa. so I flipped it, and lo and behold, 2 legs were broken loose. time to disassemble it and toss it. during the disassembly of it, well, a third leg broke off. so in a bag, time to take it to the trash!

so now I took back my desk chair (hey, it has arms, rolls around, and a back) to use until I can afford a new one. since that could be, well, forever, guess the rest of the family has to use a different chair for the computer I gave them at the desk I gave them. and I'm not too upset about that.

in other news, I only work 3 days next week (24 hours, give or take). well, we are slowing down. however, this is also vacation time. and people will be leaving. and I'm surviving right now (not doing super great, but paying bills). so I'm not too upset. plus I should be getting about another hour a week pretty much guaranteed (since I supposed to be working on painting an hour a week). that's always a good thing. plus it gives me time to work on job searching. and, well, quite honestly, with the price of gas always going up, working less means less travel (and less I have to spend on gas and food). so that's a good thing s well.

so far, six resumes are out. and 2 more should be out soon. one is for a Junior High position (no real experience0 and one for a small school district. lower pay. but a job!

so here's hoping I get something...the tough part is that jobs could be filled in August (long wait, which I hate) or i could get one soon and have to wait until I start in August/September. and since I'll probably have to wait an entire month before I get paid...yeah, that sucks!

so that's about it....doing laundry today. work tonight and tomorrow night. if the weather holds out, Monday or Tuesday, I'll trim up the rose bushes in the front. and maybe some shrubs as well. and put my name in the "Show for Dough" book Tuesday and Wednesday.

and now a question for those construction types....do Zinc washers rust? my cousin has a sign that he is putting up but he doesn't want rust to discolor the sign. outside. he thinks using plastic washers is the way to go. but will zinc washers do the same? good question!
