so finally got my brakes changed today. I've gone about 30,000 on this set of brakes, and being a small car, it was time. the rotors are "throw away" rotors as well, so I needed to get new brake pads and rotors.
it cost my under $190 with labor. a most happy day for me. most places, well, it would cost at least $190 just for new pads and to "turn" or "resurface" the rotors (if possible), and more expensive after that.
I will say, I do like Dunn Tire. they're the people that got me new brakes for less money then it would cost anyplace else to get new pads and "resurfaced" rotors! well worth it, if you ask me!
so what else? slowly getting better. blowing my nose still and have that annoying cough/sore throat. but I only had one day of aches and pains. and at least my nose blowing is "productive", as stuff is coming out. nice visuals, I know, sorry, but had to write it.
not too much else. Mother's Day was a cluster fuck all around. work kind of sucked in the morning. I had 2 extremely slow cashiers on, the third one was 1 hour 45 minutes late, the person who was supposed to relieve me was big time late, I ended up getting on lunch a good hour 15 minutes AFTER I was supposed to (aka, 8:45 AM). now, technically I would have to stay around until 9:15 AM, punch in from lunch and then punch out. I also had to wake up at 2 AM since we were having dinner at 3:30 for Mother's Day and be back at 5 PM to work 5 1/2 hours. f*ck staying, I told the payroll manager/accounting manager that I just punched for lunch and had to be back at 5 PM, so I was leaving it was okay and I'd fix things when I got back. she said "okay" and away I went.
woke up, shower, all that stuff. get to Ruby Tuesdays where dinner is supposed to be. at 3:30 PM. at 4:15 PM and STILL waiting (guess a big party was there, sitting around AFTER their meal was done, taking up a few tables and chatting) I had to leave. so I went to Panera's for dinner, and then work.
called about how dinner was....let's see, here's what happened:
gave my mom whole wheat toast. she's allergic to whole wheat. so they take away the toast and bring back....a whole wheat roll!
Greg (sister's boyfriend and frequent visitor of Ruby Tuesdays to the point where his picture is up in the back as a VIP customer)....they totally forgot his meal!
so his meal got comped. probably a 16 oz. steak. and then some.
yeah, cluster fuck for sure.
thankfully work was slow that night. got out a little early (about 2 minutes). but got a lot done. so that's a good sign.
yeah, that's about it. I changed my registration sticker in my car and everything. now, well, depending on the weather tomorrow, I might either trim the rose bushes in the front or, well, slack off. and then at least 3 days of work (and a birthday party on Sunday).
fun times...what about you?
and surreal moment of the week.....my old college roommate came into Wegmans. so chatted with him some as well. he left, looked at me and said "hello". gears went turning, I said "HI Rob." he turned around, and then it hit who I was. and we briefly chatted/caught up as to what we were doing in our lives now.
quite a surreal moment for sure!

I can sleep through about 20 minutes of my alarm if I'm tired or sick enough
