haven't posted much, so I best post something. I talked with one of my professors this past week, she called to see how I was doing. she told me how some of my classmates were missing me. wishing I was still in class. and to keep in mind my intelligence, drive, and resiliency. that I can do something, whatever I want. even if I don't end up in a school, I can still do something good.
and as I think more, schools could be tough. a round hole for the square peg that I am. too many rules and regulations. and the work is about what college the kids get into, not what is best for the kids. I could have problems with that.
so I've also applied for a Resident Director's job, at a local community college. it would mean moving back on campus. and a paycheck of $30,000 to $35,000 a year. with a furnished apartment, utilities, local phone, internet, you know, all that nice stuff, paid for as well. what would this mean for me?
10% goes to retirement
about $10,000 a year goes towards the $100,000+ in student loans I have
and the rest towards savings, living, and the rest of my bills (currently a debt management program and 3 credit cards, plus insurance).
that would be nice. plus, well, the buildings hold about 135 students. my last job, I have 400+ to watch over! so that will be nice. plus where I live, so I can visit family (and around the corner from the Wegmans I work at, so I'm looking at easy access to sushi as well!)
so what will this mean for the counseling I'm in? well, that is being done for me. so I will continue. where it will lead I do not know. but I know now that I need to take time for myself as well. take care of me as well as others. so I won't fall in that trap again.
so yeah, that's about it. 2 1-page papers to go....and a 20-page paper written as a group next week!
and then ideally....I'M DONE!
oh, and my knee hurts from pushing carts today. at least its not swollen!
