so tomorrow at 1 PM I find out the decision, or should I say, recommendation, of the APEC (Academic and Professional Evaluation Committee). so many things should be pointing in my favor (the work I've done, the willingness of me to go above and beyond, the recommendation from the Psychiatrist I saw saying that the school should hold onto me and help me achieve my goals), but we'll see. so afterwards, I'll be coming home and thinking and pondering what they said.
I also work that night, pushing carts, so push comes to shove, I'll be slamming the carts around! that should make me feel better, depending!
outside of that, not too much else. one presentation, 2 1 page papers, and one big paper to go for the semester. on Tuesday I wrote a 12 page paper and made a 10 minute power point presentation, starting around 8 PM and getting done around 3 AM. the topic was looking at the role of Spirituality in Alcoholics Anonymous. and I was told the presentation came out pretty good (nice pace, some humor, stuff like that). as a presenter, I try to interject some humor (as appropriate), and periodically ask if there are any questions/if everyone is still with me. always a good thing. plus I don't read off the PowerPoint slides. that's annoying!
so yeah, that's pretty much it. played my bass guitar a little last night. don't know any songs. and I have trouble reaching that fourth fret with my pinkies. they're crooked, you see, curving inwards a good amount. its a reach, and it hurts sometimes. but at least I played around some, so that way nice.
and the Lexapro is still kicking my butt. I'm sleeping 10 to 12 hours a night and I still get tired out. seriously, this sucks!
ADDENDUM:
well, the APEC recommendation has come down. they wonder if school counseling is a good fit for me or not, or perhaps I should explore some other field. maybe leave the area of school counseling all together and enter a different field all together.
I also need to do the following:
have an assessment from a Psychiatrist, see what is going on
do some career counseling
group therapy
individual therapy
damn it, I just wish that once, in my life, things would be more straight forward and easier for me to figure out. instead of jumping through hoops and trying to do all this crap!
so, decisions, decisions. mid-summer is when I get re-evaluated. and then a decision is made.
ADDENDUM April 22:
Well, I also found a job on-line that looks promising. its through the Center for Youth in Rochester (www.centerforyouth.net). its a Youth Development Employment Advocate. I'm sending my resume and cover letter to them tomorrow (Monday). I've put it in a large envelope, in a folder, so its nice and snazzy looking. plus, since they want someone who can promote it, I enclosed a promotional brochure I did for a previous job (that my boss at the time said was phenomenal).
wish me luck! if I get the job, see ya! I'm done with school!

Good luck with the job
For me, school held me back in life. Good luck.
The jobs pretty nasty. I dont think I can do it. I could try, but getting to that point Id probably frease.
For mosquitos try putting a couple half smoked, extingushed cigarettes butts in your pocket. It helps!
