My newest pet peeves at work:
1. People walking in the door and asking "Are you open?"
"No, we're closed, I'm just paid to stand around here. We lost the key to the front door, that's why its not locked! What do you think, you're INSIDE the damn store?"
2. People wanting to buy alcohol after 2 AM (you can not buy after 2 AM in Monroe County, where I live and work) and then they get pissy when I tell them they can't, telling me "It would be nice if I was told this!"
"Um, read the big yellow sign when you first walk in....it says at the top 'Alcohol Sales Prohibited Between the Hours of 2 AM and 8 AM!' or notice the signs by the beer stating that Country Law prohibits the sale of alcohol between 2 AM and 8 AM.....or learn the friggin' laws of the place you're in! yeesh! don't bitch at me because you can't read and can't figure things out, you damn college student!"
3. People walking down to me and asking "How do I get in?" (we put up a gate over night so people can't walk out without paying)
"Well, if you notice the BIG grey sign when your first walk in, you know, the one with the arrow, that says to enter at Register 13 or 14, I'm guessing you can figure it out!"
4. People asking me "What register are you at?"
"Think like a moth....come to the light! Look, there is ONE register with a light on! which is more than I can say about you!"
5. People asking "Are you serious?" when security (off-duty police officers) asks for ID for alcohol sales.
"No, I'm not! Yes I'm serious! Now show me ID or get out!" is the usual response from Security. After all, Wegmans clearly states EVERYWHERE that we proof 100%. of maybe these future leaders of America just can't read!
yup, those are my pet peeves....my thoughts are in quotation marks!
on a different note, got my hair cut today.

No Alchol after 2 am? In Norway they stop selling alcohol after 20 pm and even earlier in the weekend. 18 pm if I remember correctly.
Are you liking your hair cut?
