well, another year has come and gone. its been interesting to look back upon, in many ways. here's some highlights:
1. started counseling. for real this time.
2. was told that I need to work on personal issues if I want to make it as a school counselor.
3. got into serious debt. didn't make nearly enough over the summer. almost had my car insurance cancelled.
4. got my license suspended. fought with DMV. BTW, license is still suspended.
5. changed car insurance companies.
6. did some cool stuff at my job. like becoming an overnight cashier a few months after being trained on cashier. something that normally takes about a year at least!
7. found out my cousin is expecting a third child. said cousin and his wife also moved to a new house, helped them move.
8. read some books.
9. did good in some classes.
10. had my confidence shot down quite a few times.
11. finally got flexible enough in my legs to touch the floor while bending over! accomplishment, since my hands used to not even reach my ankles during this stretch!
12. met some members of this site. chatted with them. they're on my friend's list now! yay me!
13. had 2 people on my friends list accepted as SG's!
14. met and chatted with an SG in person. she's on my friend's list now too!
so yeah, that's about it. I'm currently "fighting" with the DMV. it takes them 5 to 10 days to process a payment. and if you try calling the Revenue accounting office to try and speed things up, well, you can look at getting busy signals from the phone for, oh, a few hours. thank God my new insurance company is understanding!
also, work is work. the guy that wasn't talking to me is talking to me now. it was odd. he went from chatting to pissed at me to avoiding me, and now back to chatting. go figure that one out! I'm not going to try!
and did a very interesting homework assignment for counseling. the last session, I talked about my grandfather's death (way back in 1988, he died of lung cancer). I teared up talking about that. so I had to write an opposite-hand letter about what I needed at that time. yup, me, a right-handed person, had to write it down with my left hand. it looks like a 12 year old wrote it! and it was very, well, I had to write slooooowly and carefully. it was interesting. ended up saying I needed someone to talk to, someone to listen, someone to help me understand. now I have to write a similiar one to the three girls I've dated (all bad break-ups, them dumping me) and one to my mom (she tends to be caught up in her own stuff, and oblivious to others). fun times!
and tonight, for New Years....well, I have to work tomorrow at 7:30 AM for 8 hours. yeah, that sucks. and my family is going out to eat...made reservations for 6. I would be the seventh. guess they forgot about me! my mom's response "Oh, you can come if you want." ahh, so I'm an after-thought....how nice! nope. instead, I got me some scallops, and I'm going to broil them up with some rice pilaf to eat tonight. while they're out, I'm cooking my own food and relaxing!
then go to bed early, so I can wake up early.
oh how I hate New Years. why, you ask? I've only dated someone between mid-March to mid-November. so been single every single Christmas, New Year's, that fucking evil "holiday" in February, and pretty much my birthday as well. so that's why!
as for my resolutions:
1. graduate
2. get a job
3. save money
4. not live paycheck to paycheck.
dating it out of the question.....been single now for over 6 years. one of those "why get your hopes up?" kind of things for me. if it happens, it happens. yeah, the sex life is non-existant. but, hey, I don't spend money on someone else, and I don't have someone yelling at me for being a member here, claiming that its porn and degrading to women or something like that.....
