well, tomorrow is Christmas, can't you see me jumping for you?
survived the family gathering...some interesting gifts. I ask you all who read my journal if I should panic or not:
My aunt (uncle's widow) is still kind of hard hit by his suicide. as she put it, he was her world. it took her some time, but she is doing things, going out with friends, stuff like that. well, for Christmas, her gifts included:
some shelves made by my grandfather (who happened to die in 1988) for my mom and one aunt
a hammer for my step-father. my uncle was working on replacing the handle right before his suicide. so she finished it and gave it to my step-father.
should I panic about this, or am I reading too much into it? to me, she's giving away what I would think would be prized possessions. although she is also very much hurting for money, so that could be another reason.
I ask you, what do you think?
as for me, I got the following:
West Coast Choppers sweatshirt
pictures (cousin's children)
this multi-function tool thing
a Nightmare Before Christmas paperweight....ironically almost, the same paperweight I got last year. the difference, well, this year it was from my sister, last year it was from my cousin. I don't have the heart to tell her. so I'll have one for home and one for my future office.
cash from my dad
a casino trip from my "uncle" (step-father's brother....but he's always treated me like a nephew)
and tomorrow I should get some more.
so how are you holidays going?
the only thing that bites for me is the fact that all but one gift I ordered on-line have not come in yet. I did books this year....I can wait until March to pay for them....SCORE! so "Hannibal Rising" came in for my mom. but that's it! whoops!
