well, the past few days has been quite interesting, to say the least.
on Sunday, one of the "runners" at my store left. she wasn't getting enough hours, so she got another job in the company. what really sucks is that she was really down to earth. such things as cleaning up minor spills on the Front End, while the other runners would call for someone to do it. as she put it "Its a mop, its not going to bite! Yeesh, just mop up the mess!"
and on Monday, well, here's how Memorial Day went for me:
got up. took a shower. got gas in my car. drove it to the American Legion where my step-father is a member, for free food.
after eating (we met some friends of the family there), we went to a spot for ice cream. or in my case, frozen yogurt (lets hear it for food allergies....
)
I'm going to go to the friends of the family to help them with their computer. I get in my car, keys in the ignition, turn the key, and get a short (ie, 2 second) start-up followed by NOTHING. it won't turn on. not a starter. NOTHING.
okay, the one friend of the family is a mechanic. waive him down. such things as "turn on your lights" to which I reply "they are on!"
something's not charged....great!
jump the car, driving along (I'm following him) when all my gauges go goofy, and the dashboard light is flickering.
f*ck, not good! battery light goes on! joys!
he notices me pull off, so he heads to a plaza. why? ahh, Auto Parts store!
they test the battery. its dead.
4 years old, I guess it was a good life (from what they said).
so a new battery is put in my car. it runs now....yay!
to their house. he's having trouble deleting stuff from him Outlook account. I look. over 1600 mail messages in the deleted items folder. hmmm, tools, "Empty Deleted Items". yup, that solves that problem!
so some chatting, a few more computer things (putting on Norton 2006 for him). back home.
car still running....yay!
home, short relaxation, some TV. time to fold and put away the laundry. so time to watch some Deep Space 9 on DVD.
and that's about it!

although some grass is growing through the mulch....
figure some newspaper and one cubic foot of the mulch should solve that problem!

I had a nice weekend, thanks for asking. Didn't have any time off of work, but I maxed out the usage of the spare time. Spent way too much money on jump tickets though.
