well, my paper is done. now I get to work on a Powerpoint presentation.
my scenario? a 15 year old, getting into "satanism", who rumor has it made a suicide pact with his girlfriend. he's going to kill her then himself, so they are together forever. you talk with him and her, both deny it. his mother is alcoholic and passed out drunk every night, her mother left her with her great grandmother. Assistant Principal says "don't worry about it, don't make a big deal out of it."
I get to brainstorm all possibly solutions I can think of, and the potential outcomes. have to relate it to being a school counselor, and then figure out what I would do about this.
and then make it into a 15 minute presentation!
fun times for me!
in other news....why I like working for my boss.
at Wegmans, they are stripping and waxing the floors, in 4 sections. this morning, I joined the front end manager Eric and another manager Kevin in putting things back together. while doing this, an employee comes by (we have the mop bucket) and says "Um, can someone bring the mop to aisle 11B, some kid just threw up there."
Eric's response.....
"I'll take care of it, you guys worry about this."
walks down and cleans up the mess by himself.
and that's a manager I don't mind working hard for!
and when I was done today, shook my hand and thanked me for the hard work.
yup, a reason I like working for him!
well, time for a week of observing in schools and another session.....the last one started off tought but ended good! hopefully I can keep it up!
