so I just rejected my first person applying for the Psychology group. the person had no name and an anonymous account. seriously....the name was blank. nothing I could click on. has anyone here ever encountered such a person before?

I do think I had a snafu in the banning...but there was something that set my "Spider Sense" off with everything.

oh well....such is life!

Spider sense....more like penguin intuition .

I've not approved a few applications myself, but I think that as mods it's our duty to take part in this sort of vetting. It just comes with the territory, I suspect.

PowerPoint....done.
Handout packets...done (12 packets, 10 people)
Business cards...done (20 cards, 10 people)

now a "dry run" on the PowerPoint....wait until I get home Thursday evening or do it between my shift ending (at 1:30 PM) and the interview (at 5 PM)?

questions questions....like drive home between everything to change or bring the clothes with me to work? it'll take me about 20 minutes to...

so the Powerpoint is almost done. I need to polish it up some and add some transitions. and e-mail the person to say I need A/V equipment. the title..."Alcohol Poisoning 101".

basic layout:

What alcohol is
What alcohol does to your body
Signs of alcohol poisoning
How to respond

and at the end of the packets, attaching a nice little BAC chart I found that...

so my younger sister calls and leaves a message. a few weeks back, after having back issues, it was discovered that she has an extra vertebrae in her back. when she was younger, she was also checked quite a bit for scoliosis (same with me). well, she saw another doctor, who determined that she does not have scoliosis, but she does have a degenerative disorder...

so for Halloween....do I wear a nametag that says "Sam H.Ain" or "(My) God" tonight?

Too true. I have as much faith in the readership as I do in the higher ups, which is to say almost none. But still I like to think there's someone out there with the right priorities in order.

so waiting to hear back from the interview I had last week...I was told about a week to a week and a half. right now, figuring I didn't get the job. just a hunch (and how my luck runs).

applied for a different position in the department....a "higher" position, but more of a managerial position. who knows where that will go.

also applied (again) for...

Nice! I have a PhD in biochemistry. What is your field? It is really does depend on who you know and who you blow! lol The saying is true, "nice guys finish last." whateverconfused Good luck on the interview!!!! biggrinbiggrin

Awesome background you have! With your credentials, I am sure you will find something soon. As for scientists, it really is finding your niche and place in that dream job. It's just getting there that is the hard part. Don't even get me started on politics and science. I could talk your ear off! lol

I hope all goes well with the interview! Yeah, I hear drug and alcohol consumption might be a slight problem on campus, but then again, what do I know! winkbiggrin Go get 'em!!! biggrinbiggrin

blah blah blah blah blah.

sleep schedule is who knows. tough part is the heat is turned on now....so my room will hit the sauna level (it tends to run much warmer then the rest of the house). really should have invested in the portable thermostat that I could take in my room!

had the interview yesterday. 2 positions, so that should help. and given...

so about 2 hours until the phone interview. it should be interesting...things I'm going to push is my interest in learning ASL (since about 10% of the student population is deaf and/or hard of hearing), my flexibility (since I have worked in a variety of settings) and my ability to adapt. add to that five years experience for a position that might require 1 to...

Umm.... could be gas? I always try to go for a walk or be active after a meal so.... I don't know. I would think if it were serious, it would be a constant pain rather than inconsistent.

I don't think we will ever pull Congress out of that Never Never Land they are living in... except by force.

still waiting to hear back from RIT regarding the phone interview. I'm hoping that the message wasn't sent to her spam folder (then again, since this person contacted me first, it should go to her inbox, right?). then again, I did reply on Friday, so I might hear back Monday. and it was sent.

in other news, just updated my Amazon wishlist. might be easier...

The attacks tend to come on in the middle of one of MDF's cycles. At which point it's hard for me to say "Snap out of it, it's my turn" short of fetal position on the bathroom floor.

To be honest I was extremely terrified that it was a Somatoform disorder. (I dunno why that scared me though - because honestly people with a Somatoform disorder still have very real symptoms that need to be treated...So it's not like anyone would say "It's all in your head, snap out of it.")
