Hey everybody!

Not been temping at all the last week which sucks ... makes it harder to tread water on the Ocean of debt.

Had a really fun Sunday though.

Went to the Shad Fest/Festival of Drums at Inwood Hill Park on the Northern Tip of Manhattan(3 blocks east of broadway on 218th street) .... really great festival with a pow-wow, steel drums, indian frybread...

Lucky you! I tried online dating and 99% of the girls I met were : ultra-self centered/freaks/multi dating/completely depressed. May be I wasn't on the good website... Anyway, I may go back there soon, it's spring time wink

It was nice to see all of the SGNY people on Saturday (although would have been awesome in the afternoon) ...

I want all you SGNYers to complement Ninanna on her new entry to SGNY land.

I really wish (sorry sweetie) that I would have been able to transfer to the D on the way home .. would have saved A LOT of time ......

Actually the lecture was about Dark Matter and Dark Energy ... particles were discussed ... the truth is it is "dark" so noone fully knows the answer ... the fun of conjecture.

Some idiot has had his car alarm going all night .... people should be towed for that or go to some hell .. amazed battery still works
ninanna:

Starting to feel a little bit better today and looking forward to meeting some SGNY people like Legionnaire, IrishLibra .....

I hope to find some good beer nearby there, 'cause one thing that sucks about not having a car is you cant even carry a 6-pack of beer that far ... a case fuggetabouit....

I hate being sick!!!

It was really nice going back to Princeton land this weekend for Easter.

Saturday had glorious weather and the air felt so fresh in Montgomery land. It was really nice to walk on the towpath and have a nice turkey to dig into.

I did hit a wall when shopping with Ninanna .. although it was nice to get some cartridges...

That's so weird! I graduated from Montgomery in '98. I haven't been back in over a year.

Just found a really really cool website ...

http://www.bookcrossing.com/home

Bookcrossing.com is a site which promotes letting books run free ....

Considering that I am a known bibliophile and also a horrible hoarder of all things written I think this is really, really cool.

I am still learning about how this works but basically you register a book by its ISBN number get a bookcrossing ID...

Yeah, there's sort of an ebb and flow in the politics section between me and Michael_J_Totten, my coeditor. He'll come in for a few days, publish and edit a bunch of articles and then leave, then I'll come in and pick up the slack. I actually think it's been working out pretty well recently. And now that people are getting SG Army points for having articles published, the submission rate is skyrocketing - I barely have any room to print my own stuff anymore!
hellomrworld:
interesting ... seems like it takes a lot to get SG points though....

I want to congratulate Max Molina.. for graduating from the New School (Actors Studio) MFA program, he did an outrageously good job in his thesis performance as the straight-man in Big Al and I enjoyed his performance immensely.

The cut feels very strange having 5 stitches feels kind of like having barbed wire on your arm and awfully strange (although I am sure some SGers...

Still didn't see every second I wanted of games but ....its like $100/year for ESPN GamePlan over and above the insanely high digital cable and internet bill like $150/month .... I love the DVR and stuff but it makes you want to watch even more things.

And even better when I wasn't glued to basketball actually saw the great play "Bridge and Tunnel" a one-woman...

Time to get ranty about the NCAA Tournament.

I have also at least gotten a couple of sniffs from temp agencies ... having an MBA people cant understand that you need to pay for all that debt and rent in a tough job market ... a degree does not automatically make you a millionare.

On to Tournament rants. One you always stay too long in...

But CBS is only one channel in NYC so you can only pick one game .....it sucks when you are stuck watching the game that doesn't interest you.

My Pattys day was pretty cool actually went to the Bowery Poetry Club and saw one my felllow level 1 improv people, Jedidah Clarke do some of his plays....

I also got tickets to see the stupendous one-woman show "Bridge and Tunnel" .. which I saw on Friday and was unbelievably good.

Just saw "Enternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" which was also mindnumbingly brilliant (****1/2) .. Maybe I should just make this a new post entriely...

So see "Bridge and Tunnel" down at 45 Bleeker before it goes to broadway and catch another amazing Jim Carrey performance in the Kaufman scribed "Eternal Sunshine"..

Off to the job meetmarket in a bit ... the Careerbuilder.com New York Career Fair .... There are supposedly quite a few companies there so there is a possibility for some nice positions.

Went to MSG (Mad. Sq. Garden) and watched Rutgers lose 3rd game in a row (all close) to finish the season... Lets see if RU makes it 4 in a row at...

it isn't a question of which to go to, it is a question of whether they will give me the 4-5 days off that I need to go. I'd be leaving on a Thurday about 1 but wouldn't get to Boston til 7am the next day. and then I would have to leave first thing Monday morning, and I would make it back to work Monday night. just what I want to do after spending over 24 hrs on a plane over 4 days. puke
