Some half lit reflection broke into my mind
I saw her standing in my mirror
Some caress long faded, hardened heart
Reactions drowned in the river
As a child I wore a crown so thorny
With an innate thirst for glory
Brick by brick I dismantled the church
Page by page I changed the story
Oh, but never mind the tears
They tell me to let go of the pain
And never mind my future
It never seems to explain my past
I opened my mind to unsound desires
An augmented distant fallacy
Like a sky above you and me
Protecting us from facing reality
Brick by brick I built my walls
Which kept out foe and friend alike—
With me still inside
Oh, but never mind the fears
They are just as much an illusion
Living in the pocket and the heart
Some wayward grand delusion.
