I'm a little stronger today. I actually went outside and tinkered with my bike some! I changed the oil, aired up the tires and took her for a spin. That felt good! I also aired up the tires on my bicycle and rode it around for a little while.

Doesn't sound like much, but it's left me pretty exhausted...

I'm not serious about the bike. I don't have any money to spend. I have to have the motor in my daily driver rebuilt plus I now have this sudden $1800 vet bill.

The guy didn't show when I went to get the 500. He didn't call me till I was on the way home, plus I had the blown motor in my truck to deal with. I sent him an e mail saying I'd be back in town in late July and asked what he wanted to work out but never heard back from him.

Glad to hear you're getting stronger again! Go team...or...er...you...

My family convinced me not to take the Wellbutrin today.

It didn't take a lot of talking...

Glad you didn' take it. Sounds like massive negative side effects. I'm happy for you that you had family around.

I was just about to type- "I love my meds, I couldn't live without them" But then, maybe that's part of the problem.... confused

Wellbutrin is a motherfucker.

I started taking it today. I waited until after I got moved because I knew that it'd make be feel like shit. Just how shitty surprised me! Dad and I went to my uncle's place, where we had some delicious brisket that my aunt had made. The drug had me all bug-eyed, hearing everything at once: all the birds (like every...

Hey, how are you doing today?

guitar_wolf:
Fuck man, hope everything balances out and the drug starts making things better for you. I don't have any medical advice for ya but you got my sympathy.

Dunno where I got Kentucky from, I think I drunkenly juxtaposed your journal with someone else's comment, or maybe it is just me thinking about home.

Hey Cryptonomicon! Just finished that, I enjoyed the hell out of it. Looking for reading suggestions...

I had the strangest dream during my second nap today, after dinner.

It was set here, at Dad's. I took my bike out of the back of the van, and got it started, but there was a sasquatch in the woods, and a racoon chasing me. I remember thinking, "Hey, this is easy, I'll just give it some gas and speed away!" Just then, something...

I'm here, I made it. Drove all the way with Dad riding shotgun. The truck I got from U-Haul is in seriously bad shape, and there were several times I wondered if we were going to get here at all...

Major ugliness with the fat fuck landlord right before leaving. Goddamned blood sucker.

As sick as I've been, I wasn't even on physically equal terms...

It's wonderful that you made it, that your whole familt pulled through and were the strong ones for you, and that you have a new tradition to carry on with your pop. I just wanted to know that you were safe, this is better. tongue

So I spent the day packing. Took a nap for a little while, got up and started packing again. It was so goddamned hot today! Right up around 100 and very humid. It feels so good to sit here in the a/c and sip an ice cold Shiner Bock. The fam went back to the motel to sleep, like I'm supposed to be doing but...

You fuckers missed a really great show tonight! There's a reason Two Tons of Steel is my favorite local band!! Besides the big film crew and sound crew, there was a guy from LIFE magazine there to cover the phenomenon that is Two Ton Tuesday.

Several really great people came out to see me tonight. I got to introduce my dad to my buddy Pierre....

This is terrible!

Not only is my cousin driving down here (instead of hopping a flight), she's bringing her mother and her daughter with her.

Don't get me wrong: I love all three generations of these women. I love them very dearly, but I don't want them to see me like this! Even worse, tonight's sorta like my going away party at Gruene Hall, where...

I agree with Kay. Having something to focus on right now is key. Communication is always good. Just let them know ahead of time that people are having a going away party for you. All you can do is the best you can do and no more. Good luck.
toughgirl:
eek, i hope everything works out for ya, where are you moving to?

I just took a little nap and I feel... about like I did before.

Matt's supposed to be bringing some boxes...

My cousin wants to come down here to help me move. I should probably tell her to come on, but I'm ashamed of my situation.

I'm worried about SpilledMilk. I can't get her on the phone. Anybody spoken with her today?

right now everything is surreal........like we are walking through fog and are just trying to makeout the street beneath our feet.
the funeral is on thursday. we are leaving tomorrow for arkansas. we may have to leave right after the funeral because of jimmy's work situation but we are hoping he can work it out so we can stay until friday.
jimmy seems to be doing ok...but i think it hasn't all hit him yet. i am just trying to get everything done and am staying as busy as possible. thanks for asking...really thank you.
i think after the funeral is over and we get back home.....maybe things will make a little more sense....and i know that time heals and hopefully the funeral will give jimmy some real closure.
hope the packing is going well hon.....tell us when you get back into town. smile
thisiswhoweare:
Thanks. smile

And there's nothing to be ashamed of. I know it feels that way, believe me, I did the same thing many years ago. Just let your friends and family help you out when you need it. Part of seeing how many people care about you and want to help you through it is proof that life is better than you realized. I never thought so many folks would miss me, and were so scared they though they'd lose me when they came to visit me after my attempt. It really opened my eyes. Just learn from it.

A lot of folks are so good at watching their friends' backs, and taking care of them, that they forget to take care of themselves, and refuse to let others give them a hand (or a shoulder) when they need it. So many of your friends and family must be itching to help you out right now, and do whatever thay can. Just let them. They need/want to show you how much they care, and how scared they were that they thought they'd lost you. I hope life starts treating you a little better from here out, you really are getting a sceond chance, and a new start. Take care, I hope your road to recovery is smooth and swift.
