Lately, I just haven't had much to say, or, perhaps more accurately, when I listen to what I might write as a third person would, I'm just not that interested. When you fail to interest yourself, it just can't be a good time to be writing things for others.
So, what am I left with? Well, really, gratitude.
First, for every single one of you who commented when I didn't put up words of my own... every time I come home, or wake up and see that there's another comment (or two or three sometimes), it makes me smile. The fact that people bother (in essence) to say say hello when I feel useless and boring (at least here) is much appreciated.
Second, for all the people who have given me something in which to be interested while I wait, hoping to get back to myself. The first one that comes to mind regarding this is Allegro. After sharing her play David's Gods, I am left very much looking forward to Something Like Love. But it applies to all of you who are likely to be reading this, and it's pretty much (with a few more people added in) the same people as the first group.
Third, for all the people, some "here", some not "here" (just for a little while, I hope) who have stood up for things that mattered. BrightRedScream and TinyHobo/Zombie definitely have fallen into that category at least twice within as many weeks. It's good when people that are obviously such a big part of things around here stand out as voices of sanity... sanity can be just as contagious as madness, and those who spread it, I will always appreciate. I hope BrightRedScream is with us again, soon.
Finally, specifically... for KatieKat, who gives me something to look forward to every morning.
So what's up with me? Well, I just find myself in the time of year that's "home" for me, but there's no real comfort there. But I can deal with that. I'm quietly doing things that will hopefully make life better for me... maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of my life. One of these things, that I am very much enjoying, is teaching myself a new (to me) computer language, Java.
Someday, maybe by Christmas, I am going to do something genuinely geeky like writing a Java class for each of my friends on here. And for the non-programmers, that's not a study type class, but rather (in this case) a brief description in code. Because a lot of you are popping into my head when I am reading on this language, and I can almost immediately think of methods and instance variables for you.
I had another something here, somewhere... hmmm... but it's lost right now. Really, all of you... thanks for being out there. Don't go anywhere, and if you do... be safe and come back soon.

Thanks! I love learning new words - especially ones I've seen for decades and thought were nonwords!
