I'm trying to get ready to make a run at the SCJD (Sun Certified Java Developer) test... one step up from my last test, the SCJP, a bit over a year ago at this point. Work feels very... unsettled, so getting that done will be a way both of feeling a bit more secure, and maybe, in actuality, being a little more so (if not...

I wish I felt I have the luxury in some areas, to reasonably decide to be reasonably unreasonable. I can't afford that luxury, however, in the matter I elude to. wink

yes i do agree with you, but there is a pattern that we are prone to be more attracted to. I suppose its a guideline.

Empty lines of empty verse-
An empty fate at which to curse;
If you knew before this "now"
Would you change a given "how"?
Would you take a new approach?
Could that still your self reproach?

Empty heart and empty head-
Another day fades to dead.
At its start it seemed so new,
Now the black has taken blue,
All its moments lost to "then"-...

A gray, cool, wet Wednesday in October.
There was even a bit of thunder, and the rain is hard enough to have a roar to it.

Definitely, my kind of day. biggrin

I'm quiet because I'm thinking, mostly.

Sometimes words are not up to the task.

But, I enjoy hearing all of yours.
smile

Thanks for being around, everyone. You help keep life interesting.

The circles are just smaller
But they circle 'round the same
And every time they're fewer-
Those that call you by your name.

But you keep on going;
You keep a set and certain pace-
And never stop to wonder
Where you're going in this race.

Lost In Translation Theatre!

I never tell the world she was
I will burn my clothes if possible
Or tell your friends what a fool I
Joke and laugh at me at the phone

Can you tell me to save my arms
Can you tell me my feet hit the floor
Or tell your lips, my fingers say
They are not and will not provide...

When what you've been, and what you've done
Can stand nor work no more-
When you're harried, and uncertain
And have one foot out the door-
You can fret and fold and when all's told
You'll be a broken man-
Or you can reach inside and then decide
To make one final stand.

Reminds me of "Outside the Wall" by Pink Floyd...

It's tough to reach down and find the courage to give 'em all hell when you've been through a beating... kudos to all who do.
_holden_:
It's true. I sang Happy Birthday to Mcgee this morning and he was just looking at me like what's wrong with you. Whenever I have a rotisserie chicken I share some with him. He loves that. My Mom sent me $20.00 in the mail so I think I'll just buy him a new scratching post or something.

This has been a long, not so easy week.

Sorry to be quiet, there's just so much to do, and so little time to sleep.

There is a certain wisdom
That fast follows in her wake:
The path that she has followed
Is one I can not take.

On
That road from dawn to twilight
Unknown ends lost in the night
Lost and lonely in our flight-
That road from dawn to twilight

There is a solemn quiet
That slow settles with her leave;
The last of her bright echoes...

It may be ages old but I only saw it today so thought I'd share. Who couldn't use a little more catcerto in his life?

daisy:
blogs are complicated. I never know what to say, or what to share. I think i'm not really cool enough or witty enough for this blogging game.

I have one verse that just came into my head-

There is a certain wisdom
That fast follows in her wake:
The path that she has followed
Is one you can not take.

But none of the others that have tried to follow on its heels *fit*.

Perhaps later.

I can hear the pattern, I just need meaning to fit itself to the pattern.

So, I woke up before my alarm today.

I swept up my living room.
I cleaned up cat hair (and honestly a few furballs).
I cleaned and refilled the hummingbird feeder.

Then my alarm went off, and I turned it off, made a cup of tea, and came in here.

Next up:
Morning feeding for my old guys (Mama, Claw, and Fang)- they get special...

Sounds quite productive. I must say, I occasionally appreciate waking up before the alarm on weekends. It's more than just bonus hours or minutes. Time feels different then. It's extra, so the pressure is off. It's moment to moment possibility, and what you use it for can't be wrong.

Sweet. smile
