I missed Christmas this year. I don't know if I'm glad for it or what, but I didn't do anything. Christmas Eve is tomorrow night and I'll be with the family for Noche Buena, but I missed all the build-up. All the shopping, all of the bullshit (and I mean some of that bullshit in a good way.). I won't be going to the crazy Christmas lights houses of Miami (something I like to do every year-- go to the most lit up houses that are on the news), I didn't buy shit for anyone.
Yesterday, as my Christmas present, I gave Hillary a blank check and sent her to a spa, since she was so fucked up and stressed out. Woke up crying.
But that was it-- all I did was sign my name. I didn't drive anywhere or do anything. I didn't go with her, or anything.
I just went on Best Buy.com's store locater to see what time they open (I'm buying Eastern Promises for myself, and nothing else), and I realized they're on Holiday hours. fucking holiday hours. But the holidays end tomorrow. So like, I didn't even know.
I missed it all this year.
I feel so strange. I used to look forward to this so much. I used to say "Merry Christmas" to strangers.
The most Christmassy thing I've done this year has been to watch the Christmas episode of 30 Rock. And to have one of those peppermint white mochas at Starbucks.
Also, my friend Aaron gave me Superbad last night.
