sometimes my job, the place I work, reminds me of the old King Kong (now closed) ride in Universal Studios Florida. As I'm walking through the shop there's a man with a blow torch working on some tractor tracks, the white-hot flashes reflecting off of his mask and every other surface around him.
Nitrogen tanks are letting out white dry ice-like smoke to my left, the tops of the tanks snowy and frozen. in front of me, a giant excavator slowly lumbers toward me, making a tremendous racket, the toothy, jagged, rusted yellow shovel spelling death and horror in its wake.
yeah.
I like my job.
Today is day number 2 of being a manager. On tuesday the manager will return and I will be back in my cozy assistant position, which I like.
Yesterday wasn't all that tough. Kind of stressful in the moments where everyone's asking you for help, heads of other departments making demands while i order tanks of argon for my own department.
But those were the tough moments. then i told people what I wanted them to do, and they did it.
Today was also day 3 that I worked out this week.
It was kind of a weakling workout but I'm still kinda proud I went.

getting out the door with the intention of working out is winning no matter what you actually accomplish. I am attempting to rouse myself for a run now...

Yay for working out. My workout today consisted of getting in and out of the shower, driving 2 seconds down the street, sitting and having an interview for a half hour and spending the rest of the day sleeping or reading. Nice huh? Yeah and I am still tired.
