I paid for a Rug Dr. yesterday. My brother assured me he'd do the carpets. He roped ivarr into doing the dining room and part of the living room.
I'm on antibiotics for whatever is making my lungs burn. Side effect: I can't sleep. Last night my brother had friends over who decided it would be... Read More
doctor won't work for a cold.. just have to pay a dr bill to hear I have a cold.. If it turned into a respiratory infection or ear infection I would go. Otherwise all the meds the Dr can give me are too strong. I have to do Over the Counter... What I need to do is still remember to rest while I am getting better so it dosen't ger worse again.
This move has been pretty stressful, but I think I've handled it well.
But first I want to respond to a possible tenant (but as it wouldn't do me any good to actually talk to him, I'll just share it with you, Gentle Readers).
After posting my ads for both my room and Ivarr's room, I went looking at the housing wanted page on... Read More
Packing: It always takes more time than you think it well. Reassurance about a week or no, try to finish it ASAP.
UHauls: Always go with one size bigger than you think you need. It's only 10 extra bucks, and it makes filling the van So Much Less Stressful. There's little or no tetris, you just throw everything in. And if you misguessed, you can always tetris then.
I took that apartment from my last blog. Money will be tight for awhile but I have no doubts about having made the right decision.
Oh, I'm typing this blog from my new MacBookPro. Welcome Matrim to the family, Gentle Reader! I need to figure out how to get my serial number for my copy of CS2. It was so long ago that I installed... Read More
It's less than a mile from work so I could totally bike it. It's dual master bedrooms. Granite counters in the kitchen and bathrooms. Hardwood floors in the living room and dining room, carpets in the bedrooms. There's a garage and a carport. And the best part: washer and dryer in the unit. I really, really like it.... Read More
so maybe you can replace yourself on the lease and let your brother and the other one figure it out.
steam cleaners work wonders - get out while you still ahve your sanity.
also, you should work on a better screening process for roommate finding. make sure you know their schedules. work out the food things. DON'T LIVE WITH YOUR BROTHER.
I've been having issues sleeping. Either I'm super tired and sleep for like an hour and something wakes me up (like the crazy fucking neighbor lady who yelled at some guys talking. I could BARELY hear them but then I hear this screeching, "SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP!" Hellooooooo Awake Town!) or I don't fall asleep until, well, now.
This weekend was decent. I mean I look back on it and feel happy, but I know there were some parts where I was sad.
Friday
Got up and realized I didn't have milk or butter for the apple cobbler I was going to make for roxymonoxide andnonsense's Fourth of July party. As I was baking I realized I need some tools:
The 1924 Bungalow
I figured I wouldn't like it because when I talked to the owner she said implied the walls were paper thin. It's not that I'm noisy but because I am up later than "normal" people, I worry I could get complaints. It's in Santa Ana, just behind the civic center. The neighborhood was super nice... Read More
Toxic levels of pineapple juice, eh? I have no problem with that. Has some yesterday but it wasn't nearly enough and this water is booooorrriiing.
Oh, and I'm stocked up on Ice cream. Yellow cake batter and creme brullee from B&J's, with this Low Far Latte thing from Starbucks. And pudding. Aaaand now I need to hoof it to the store for Redbox DVDs and more pudding. And pineapple juice.
Here's why I wanted to get obliteratedly drunk last night.
I design three newspapers, a daily and two weeklies. One of the weeklies gives me so much trouble mainly because the woman who runs it knows nothing of journalism (although she tells me she got a degree in it).
A little background: Around the end of April we redesigned the weeklies to look more the... Read More
I absolutely hate coming home. I know it's only 9:30 p.m. on a Friday but seriously there have been strangers in my home all fucking week. I wanted a nice quiet evening to clean but no, now my cat (and my idiot brother's) and I are hiding in my room melting because the only way to get a cross flow is if I open my... Read More
You know you have a friend who has the inside track to every real estate listing in So. Cal, right (me!). This is a buyer's market, and if not that, there's leases and short sales to be had by the hundreds. I'm here to help if you want.
I found two 1br condos in Anaheim for less than $100K. Lots. The bank owned ones ask for 2% down, and you can get them to pay your closing costs, saving you several thousand.
This nice one in Tustin 2br, 2 ba 1044 sqft on level 2: $99K...not senior housing. There were 51 other listings as well.
No, i checked those first, because i know your area best, and i thought you'd want to stay close. The two in Tustin look promising, because if need be you can rent out a room and take a chunk out of your mortgage.
most of the Anahiem ones were rough neighborhoods, and being a single girl, those are not very secure, as well as having poor resale value.
PM me and tell me what your budget is, so I can check the rentals for you.
