I speak Hungarian and a little bit of German. My mother is Polish so I try to understand that as best as I can. But I've been living in the States so long I feel like English is my first language.

Oh and I've been living in the States since I was 11 or so so like 16 years. We moved here in 1987. We lived in Germany for a year before we moved here. That was just a transitional perdiod. We never planned to stay there. We just had to get out of Hungary fast and live in Germany while we got approved to move here to the States.

Too often the last month or so, sleep is measured in turns of head to the clock. Concrete little tiny intervals set in stone by red digital numbers saying that I went back down for total of twelve minutes this time. I think I need a new bed.....

And yes I'm back.
Oh and you commented last time about why we needed to leave Hungary. It was actually no big deal. Hungary then was still communist and my parents were just sick of it. They weren't communists and they knew the only way they could advance in life was to be a commie and they weren't and didn't want to be. They wanted more and better opportunities so they decided they wanted to move to the States. They decalred political asylum and moved here.
Hungary is no longer communist so sometimes they kind of wish they had stayed longer and waited it out. They miss their families, etc. But at the same time they are very happy with the life they have created here for themselves.
