I'm trying to think of all of the highlights of the weekend just gone but to put them all in would probably break the internet. I will at least try to remember everyone who made it such a brilliant weekend, I was gutter I had to leave Bristol yesterday when there was still drinking to be done.
So I got to Bristol on Friday after Last Great Western had first told me I was going to be late and then told me I wasn't and finally told me they weren't sure. It is not easy to arrange to meet someone with information this reliable but Narshada somehow managed to arrive at almost exactly the right time had even aquired an entourage whilst doing so.
So together with pinklet, Killa_ and Angel_Ree we headed down to Karaoke-Me! to join the others where many people sang and I laughed and most definitely didn't sing. Whatever you may hear elsewhere it didn't happen. Anyway more importantly Narshada and Killa provided an awesome death metal version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, theknives did sing and was really good, Zamuzel needs a stage, Kristoph has the patience of a saint and some people (naming no Discos) know way too much Ant & Dec. Massive props to emma_treasure, KellyMonster, Ortus and Nikhita who all did a much better job then me. Rael was also there and seemed to be confirming my opinion of him as the quietest man in the world. How wrong could I be? Much beer was drunk and having drunk too much already most of us decided to go to another bar where we drank more.
Saturday morning didn't happen. Along with incredible time keeping and awesome death metal skills Narshada proved that he is a host without equal by knowing when to leave a man to sleep. At a despicably late hour I crawled off of his sofa and we headed into town to meet Angel_Ree and Killa_. Apparentky it isn't essential to pack clothes for a weekend away so we were dragged around the shops for a while. Eventually I decided that lunch was needed so me and Narshada retired to the pub where I proceeded to start drinking despite the fact that he had driven into town and couldn't join me
At some point emma_treasure, lolliepop and a couple of others joined us. At another point the conversation got very weird.
The girls had to head back to Bath to get ready so me and Narshada went back to his to dump his care in order that he could join in with the main purpose of the weekend - drinking. At around 7 we reconvened with all of those from the previous night plus a few others. I freakishly kicked arse at pool and promptly retired undefeated. It was good to see The_Happy_Pig and TheDuke looking so well along with TheDukes special guest. It was around now that Rael revealed himself the master of the one liner which I never saw coming. Some of us had approached the task of drinking as much as possible in a most proffessional manner and were completely off their tits by the time they got to the pub. Much respect. Then somehow the pub was drunk dry of dark rum. It may have been around now that a banshee was unleashed.
There was a club. On a boat. It's starting to get a bit hazy now however as my memory may be better then some of the principal charecters in the tale I will endeavour to document it. There was dancing and much glam rock. I discovered that Spandau Ballet is to emma_treasure what water is to the Wicked With of the West. My knowledge and love of ABC was startling to some people. Bowie has amazing if rather short term recuparational effects on Zamuzel who is not easy to get out of a club. Disco is very loud. If I embarrassed myself I can't remember which may be for the best.
The next morning actually felt ok. After an ace lunch in the wrong pub me and Narshada headed down to the right pub to find that some people have the livers of 10 men. I don't know how you were still drinking but I did kind of want to join you. I hope you are all feeling it today. I didn't get to stay long though as I had to make the long journey home at the mercy of Last Great Western again. I have got some memories I will treasure for ever though so thanks to everyone mentioned here and my deepest apologies if I have forgotten you, blame the drink for that.
I will end on an awkward note. Lager doesn't appear to give me a hangover yet I don't really like lager. However as I really don't like hangovers maybe if I stuck to lager I could avoid them? Hmm.
