Well, more on that concert (pics in folder)...
it was at a place called Tab Benoit's Lagniappe Cafe. Long name cool place. There is a decent stage and a good bit of room balcony and patio for chillin' between sets. It's just a great place to catch local talent and I'm sure everyone will laugh but we really do have some down here. Jagermiester sponsors a lot of the local bands out of Houma enabling them to actually tour other states. My idea is that there is going to be a great influx of Louisiana bands making it big, or at least bigger due to Katrina. No mainstream big acts will be playing New Orleans for awhile and definitely if they do it won't be often. Ppl will still want to see live music and the local talent will have to bring it. more ppl seeing small bands, bigger bands growing from the small. Darwinian and what not.
Slow the knife is my favorite out of this area. Probably because as a fan of John Lee I go back 8yrs. when he was with a band called Fuel, then Fractured.

I graduated from highschool with the bassist from drysocket and they are really talented just not exactly my kinda groove.
Concert was great!! ran into some friends, always old faces at these places.
Vertigo Sun opened and I only caught their last two songs coming in from work, but they were really good, name sucks though. That's all i got.
First all ages show I've been to in a bar....so many freakin' kids but it was good to see that they have a place that they can go to to see decent bands. They have a teen club but that's just shit bands. When we were in highschool there was this place in Houma that had all ages show it wasn't a bar or a teen club saw Frenzal Rhomb and Less Than Jake there, residents passed a noise ordinance and now it's a tile shop. Oh, the glory days.
