So , if you care to see what a VW GTI looks like after hitting a PA Turnpike guard rail , check out my Formerviking's photos album . They're the first 2 shots there now . To see it brand new , see the last shot in that group . I went to the rental place today & got a different car . The Jeep...

Very true....I also would have loved to see Queen in concert but alas....

I do consider myself lucky enough to have seen Deep Purple before John Lord retired....awesome show

Wednesday night , while driving home on the turn pike , I lost control of my car in the snow & went off the road . Hit a guard rail ( thank god ) & messed up the passenger side of my car pretty good . I'm ok , just a little achy from bracing for impact . It was one of those " you...

Ok , new update . Job is still going well . Have spent the last 2 weeks learning new procedures that I'm really enjoying doing . It's a combo of data entry & tracking / checking product that I'm actually finding I enjoy & am quite good at it . It basically is the part of my last job I did enjoy with out the...

A new post , thanks to the weather we're having . Had to call off work due to us getting a mix of snow & ice all day . I almost hate doing this , as I've never had so many comments before that I hardly know how to take it biggrin Thanks to Otoki for that mainly . Guess I can thank Gary Gygax for...

Just a brief post here . Nothing new here . Same old same old . Just counting down the minutes until I have to leave for work . Although I'd rather just go back to bed . This stupid hour + drive each way is getting annoying , to say the least . I am close to being signed off on several jobs at work...

One week into the new job , & I am still pretty damned jazzed about it . Last week was all orientation . And the next 6 ( ! ) months may be training . Will be shorter depending on how fast I pick up on things . A couple of the things I'm really happy about . 1 ) It's easily the most diverse...

This should be good . The Phillies just won the series . I start a new job Monday , in downtown Philly . I hope they don't have the parade that day . Surely they'll have it before then , right ?
So , I was really happy to see them win , even if I wasn't happy with the whole splitting the game up...

New college paradigm. You'll find out more in a few days.

Any ideas on how to generate discussion topics in BPAL?

Life is rather wacky for me right now . The last two weeks I've been bouncing back & forth between 3 different places trying to get hired . Had one interview today after testing for another place yesterday . Now that place called back & they want to interview me Monday . It's madness I say .
More madness is how the Phillies manhandled the...

Hollenthon, huh? Unfamiliar . . . for now . . .

Thanks for the pep talk. I know I may sound like I'm taking this lightly, but despite my field of practice currently being nephrology, I've got a pretty solid background in cardiopulmonary care as well as infectious disease. Why do you think I ws at CDC where they don't generally just trat people? I am under the care of the top physicians in the field.smile Ihave for decades taken extra care in where heart and lungs go, as multiple diseases in those areas are the norm in my family. I"ve bee preparing my heart and lungs for the worst since I was 12, and indeed, had I not been, I am quite certain I would not be here today. I have no intention of checking out just now.smile I finished the regimen of IV antifungal, andtiviral and antibiotic meds. The only med I discontiniued was Demerol, which is a pretty serious opioid and since I wasn't in that much pain any more and had been on the maximum dosage for most of a week, I knew I wanted to beoff of it for a few daze before it before resuming work. . . .

. . . .and I have to get up in less than 3 hours for it so I'm going back to sleep now. I just got up to pee and got caught up in SG for a few, but I've already had 5 hours slep since I've been home.biggrin

Good luck on the job search, and I hope you get to go to the RennFaire. I'm jealous on that, but a good jealous. Have a blast!
philconnors:
Did you make it to the Ren Faire? I went on Sunday and it was just fantastic. Had a really good time. Good music, tasty beer, decent food.

Opeth kicked all kinds of ass . Going to this show reminded me of all the things I miss about going to the Trocadero . Getting to see several bands on one card . Really as close as you want to . If you're serious enough , you can get right in front of the stage . Sitting up in the balcony , watching the...

Yeah, Victory makes some very good beers. I like the HopDevil, and the Prima Pils is quite yummy, as well. Haven't tried any of their darker beers, so I'm looking forward to checking out some of their winter offerings.

Attended the Thursday night session of the GABF. Didn't really taste anything new that blew my mind, except for an awesome tripel-style by the name of "Incubus." Made by Sly Fox Brewing Company, in the fine state of Pennsylvania, as a matter of fact. smile

I miss the Troc, too, from back when I lived in South Jersey as well (Voorhees, Marlton, Laurel Springs, Lindenwold, etc were places I lived).
