Back from the two-day mini-tour. We were blessed with packed houses for us and the 90 Day Men, but I was plagued with electrical problems that must be worked out before the European tour.
Checking into the freelance opportunities. Tis not the season for this kind of work. Soley relying on the pizza gig, which is some kind of cruel joke. Still fucking stressed about money, but no longer escaping into the terminal drunkenness.
It's kind of nice to be so broke at Xmas. I hate shopping and feeling obligated to buy shit for people and having people feel obligated to buy shit for me. Poverty is an excuse to pretend that the consumer aspect of the holiday does not exist.
I am giving one gift...a gift of words. My own recount of the day we spent in NYC together. What the weather was like on the street. What I told her to do when we got back to her room. How she complied. The story I told of a vision I had of her when I was "speeding and lonely" on the way to austin. These tales that involved Lou Reed's NY street hassle as a backdrop. Not to mention the speed. And the words she said to me after I finished describing every slight detail to her as we layed in bed on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
That's all she wants from me. That's all she expects.
