Actually, there's a van driving around the neighborhood selling heating gas that's playing a song my first roommate from Melbourne in Oz said sounded very Cultural Revolution-ish. There'd usually be some easy listening pop songs on the shopping street (shotengai) below my apt., but it's lowered considerably. Given the blaring xmas carols last month, perhaps this is in atonement.
