ok.. so i had my interview with the chef from calendula on monday.. stuart... nice guy. Anyways... he didnt really interview me. We just talked about the restaurant and stuff.. he told me all the nuts and bolts of the operation. They are opening to the public on Jan 6th with 4 soft openings the days prior. Training begins on dec 27th.. shit like that.
It went well.
I have a working interview with him today at craigs house.. which i am prety excited for. I met and hung out with craig (the owner) already.. so that wont be a problem. I guess they are just going to buy some ingredients and we'll all cook them up together.. just so he can see my knife skills and how i can handle a saute pan... which both are easier then walking for me. (seriously.. i think i get hurt more walking around than with a knife or saute pan)
so that wont be problem.
This is going to be fun... hopefully i'll be offered a job. Which.. in that case i'll have to decide what i want to do with whole foods. I have great pay and benefits there... benefits and pay i don't want to give up. I HAVE to work 30 hours there to keep my benefits.. which is 4 days of work.
"What's more important to me?" is what i'll have to decide. But the first decision i have to make if and when i get offered a job is: Am i ready to work 70+ hours a week?
the answer: I think so.
Maninly... hil won't be around.. so our relationship wont be suffering for it. its better to do this than to sit at home on the computer.. whole foods is barely work for me (especially at the same time as working at an actual restaurant.. doing that is kinda like warming up with 5 bats before you walk to the plate with one.) I can get out of debt quickly as most of my whole foods paycheck will be going to that cause and i can start saving for the wedding.
this will be fun... i need to take care of myself though... like hil says.
of course.. this is all HYPOTHETICAL.
