So i'm looking for a part time job... i aopplied at two places... one is the Alameda Cafe on fremont and one is Carafe.. its going to open in the beginning of august and one of the best chefs in Portland is opening it. Pascal Sauton. I had the luxuory to meet him a couple of times at whole foods... one was when he taught a class there.. the guy fucking rules and he taught me so much in that 3 hour class that i just HAD to apply.
Here are entries fromt he past few days:
July 7: The fourth of July and other happenings.
"so the past few days have been uneventful yet eventful.. yeah...
my interview went good.. im still waiting a few days to call them back.. so we'll see how good it went for their side... i applied at carafs with the chef that i really want to work under and.. he called me back today! YES! i have to set up an interview with him for tomorrow or wednesday. yes yes yes.
now.. i hate holidays.. but for some reason i went to a 4th of july party.. mike came over and we watched donnie darko... and all i have to say about that movie is... "eh". i guess i need to watch it a few more times. but anyways... after that we decided to crash this party is SE.. i was reluctant.. but i went.. i guess mike knows people that went there last year so he knew about it... anyways.. we go.
it was at some house surrounded by warehouses which had some decent graffiti oh the walls that formed the boundry of their back yard.. they had a really nice halfpipe and a giant firepit. a band or two played in the garage. so by now youprobably know which party im talking about... i guess it happens every year or something and alot of people know about it. but anyways... i was good and drunk on 4 or so shots of tequila from home and about 3 beers purchased by mike. then all of a sudden i hear.. "what's up tj?" and look up to see Kerry Webber.. a "friend" from back home.. well.. actually more of an aquaintance (sp?). kinda surprising but not really because he stopped in whole foods the last time he was in town a few months back .. but still.. at some random party in portland i see this totally random "friend" from pittsburgh... weird.
we left and i had to piss badly for about an hour... i almost exploded.
it was by far the best piss ive ever had in my entire life.
i can't wait until we get a car.. i need to get out of this RECTANGLE that exists from Lombard to Burnside and from 13th to 5th.
i need to get out of the city.
i need variety... every day is the exact same thing.
im hungry and i need to go get gas for the scooter."

July 10th: People like me!
"so i had my interview with Pascal today and it went super fucking well.. he started off by saying that the cover letter i wrote for my resum was one of the best he has seen in the 30 years he's been in the industry. We talked for about a half hour or so.. which is a long time for an interview.. and i said some really good things and the dude fucking loves me it seems. He said i should be expecting a call for a second interview from the sous chef next week when he gets back from vacation. He's the one that's going to be directly in charge of the kitchen and he has the final decision in hiring... with Pascals opinions in mind of course. So we'll see how that goes.
Also.. i called the Alameda Cafe again and she said the position was filled.. but she loved talking to me. But she just thought that i wouldnt have fun there because its not high-scale enough. But she said some things that made me feel really good about myself. Like she thinks i would be savvy in he kitchen and that i'll go far in my profession. She said she was looking for my resum because she wanted to call me, but i got to her firstt.. and she asked for my cell phone number so we can keep in contact if i move because she's really intrigued by me and may want me to work for her in the future.
YES!
i feel good today.
i'd feel even better if we had a car so we could go swimming in the washougal."
