OK, so I lied, I wasn't really back...

Yea, the ten miler is quite the popular ticket. You could probably snag one off of Craigslist if you are so inclined. Ah, the Saab. My grandfather bought it in Sweden when he went home to visit in 1969. I got it in 1977 for my 17th b-day. It had a V4 German made Ford engine. 4 speed on the column, front wheel drive. It was built like a tank.

hahaha. Yeah. Anal on the first date is either a really good date or lots of booze.

Ahoy! Glad to see you back among us! I figured family issues and just general busy-ness had overtaken you but now that I know you've got a SCORCHING new computer in your possession, you better come around more often! Welcome back!

~ I'm 50 today, HOO AAH!
~ I'm going sailing in Maine for a couple of weeks, a present to myself for the first half century, so I'll be even more out of pocket than usual!!

Am I the only one having problems with photo sets that are reeeeeally slow or don't show up altogether?
dmac:
Nope, you're not the only one. I think they like to watch us start convulsing and drooling every time they change up the format. Here's a nice picture I stole from my buddy TwinAce and it speaks the truth:
Thanks for the nice comments about my new ink, by the way. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out.
As for the pirate food thing, my Seattle friends SurlyMike and HolaGatita (both vegans) found this place and we had super yummy grub when they came to visit. Who knew pirates could be so non-carnivorous?
Have a good week!

~ On Wednesday, an old sailing friend invited me to help put his boat in the water in Kingston, NY, and then sail a few hours up the Hudson, to the boat's dock. Completed successfully, it was a great day, boat owners were great, had a great time!

If you ever find that illusive "instruction manual" for life, PLEEEEEZ let me know. I could use a little clarity myself.

madscience:
Yes, life does need to come with clearer directions. I concur.
~ So I've chartered a sailboat for my fifty'th birthday in June, for nine days. It's an area I've sailed and kayaked a little before, and I really like it there. I'll be sailing into Bah Habah this time, instead of driving there like a more conventional tourista, Cadillac Mountain should be spectacular from the sea. And although tourista I will be, I'll at least...

I'd love it if the Yanks could sweep the Sox this week, but I'll settle for 2-out-of-3. For once, I want to see some pitcher have the stones to throw inside to Ortiz and back that fat fuck off the plate. You'd think he eats dinner on it the way he crowds it.
budoviking:
You'd think I would have kayaked whitewater at this point, but for some strange reason no. Ocean, yes, freshwater no. Lots of canoeing up to Class IV, the requisite rafting, and the occassional swim, but no kayaks. I must be old school, or else just too stubborn to want to learn to roll. Anyway, we finally found a cottage right on a pond on the west side of Mt. Desert, away from the Bah Hahbah scene. Should be sweet. Last real vacation with the oldest before he heads off to college in the Fall.
And BTW, Happy Birthday!

Ummmmm, I know I'm one of those old feeble geezer girls that lurks around here (not to mention the defective brain thing), but I'm not seein' anything here in the old Eyesplice blog. It's vaporized!
Blank page....nada..... Is your journal a victim of the SG format change?

- Welcome to Spring, all! Although it's a not very spring-like 5 degrees this sunny first morning of Spring! Skiing yes, but no bike today!
budoviking:
Tuesday it hit 80 here. Spring is bustin' out all over. Biked into the office the past two days...gettin' the groove back!
- OK, Wednesday I rode my motorcycle to the ski slope, the high was 70 degrees, how could I not? And OK, I did do slush...
- But I guess skiing isn't done quite yet because this morning, Saturday, It's 20 degrees, and there's a foot of snow on my car...
What the f***, eh!?
- So Happy Frick'n St. Patty's Day Blizzard to all!
